One of the oldest rivers in the United States is the New River.
These are some pictures of the New River.
What evidence do you see in the pictures that make it look like and old river.
Research at least two facts about the New River and included them in your post
with your source cited.

old rivers look different they have old old rocks on the side of the river and new rivers probably don't look like older ones because they have newer looking thing there like houses and boat launches and trees back in the 1600s there was not as many trees as now.
the side looks like the old rocks from ancient times history
This ancient river begins in the mountains of North Carolina near the Tennessee state line, flows generally northwestward across the Blue Ridge Mountains, Great Appalachian Valley, Ridge and Valley Province, and the Allegheny Front in western Virginia and West Virginia, then cuts through the Appalachian Plateau (in the New River Gorge) to meet the Gauley River and become the Kanawha River in south-central West Virginia.[7] The Kanawha then flows to the Gulf of Mexico via the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. Much of the river's course is lined with steep cliffs and rock outcrops, particularly in its gorge in West Virginia.[7][9]
This low-level crossing of the Appalachians, many millions of years old, has long been a biogeograpical corridor allowing numerous species of plants and animals to spread between the lowlands of the American East Coast and those of the Midwest; other unusual kinds of plants occur on the gorge's cliffs or rim-top ledges.[9] Portions of this corridor are now also used by various railroads and highways, and some segments of the river have been dammed for hydroelectric power production.
i think the first pic was the slower lake and the second one was the faster lake than the first one!
Some evidence in the pictures that show that this river is old is, it's flowing very calmly over a wide area. Them New river also called the Kanawha river is about 320 miles long. source: Wikipedia.

I can tell this river is old because it is so calm. I can also tell this river is old because one link I found said it went through the last ice age.

where i got it from
*The
older rivers are calmer like the old river
a river runs though it.
Evidence that shows that the New River is old is that usually old rivers are really calm and have almost no flow, they are also more wide than younger rivers.

young rivers have a narrow valley and move swiftly. Old rivers are wide.
Facts - It was named the New River because it was not known to early Atlantic Coast explorers. Despite its name, the New River is the third-oldest river in the world geologically, and the only nontidal river that crosses the Appalachian Mountains. - Wiki -

Rivers some old some new well old rivers are calmer bigger and you can tell over times the stream Erotion the land and a stream turns into a brook then a river that why there so old it takes a long time to do that why there so old. but young rivers could be made from other and the river that made it might of ben detached from it that why it was already made into a river thats what I think.

the thing that looks old about it is the rocks on the side of the river are old as you could tell and the width and length of the river looks older than others and has brought all the rocks to the side aand flows slower than others.
some evidence is its flowing smoothly and its wide as well.its not a fast rough moving river.it is one of the few rivers that flows north to south.its about 320 miles long.

This ancient river begins in the mountains of North Carolina near the Tennessee state line, and its been there for many years and all the trees and all the old rocks that have must on them

The Old river is darker and it is greener then the new one
The new one is about 320 miles long and its one of the few new rivers that flow north
The river is darker, and it's turning green over the years. The rocks around it are breaking down. The river is wider, which is an effect of weathering.
the young river is steeper and swifter
This looks like a old river because it is calm, and two facts are young rivers are steeper and swifter.
the old river is bigger because of abraison and the new river is smaller
The two pictures above show that the river is an old rive because there are no rapids. If it had rapids it would be a young river. The bottom of the river on the ground is all smooth so the current is smoother.
The river is turning green and the rocks along the shore are breaking down
old streams are smoother because over time the rocks moov so there is no wite water
If, you zoom in really, really, really close you will see that there are a lot of areas that are jagged and vastly eroded.
Two Facts:
The park encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River.
Established in 1978.
FROM... http://www.nps.gov/neri/a-river-runs-through-it.htm
There isn't any rapidds in that river because it abraised the rocks into becoming smooth. So it is an old river, despite the name.
I meant to type Zachk

It was named the New River because it was not known to early Atlantic Coast explorers
2.
The New River is home to many species of freshwater game fish including bass, trout, walleye, muskellunge, crappie, bluegill, carp, flathead and channel catfish.
There is a lot more build up of sand in the old river. But the young river has very little build ups of sand around it.
The flows of the rivers are going different direction as well. One river goes one way and the other goes anoter way.
