outer space

Fred said to Sam that it would be really easy to move things in outer space because there is no gravity. Maddy and Joe overheard them talking and decided that Fred was wrong, because it would take force to move something in outer space. Who do you think is right and why?

Fred is right because moving objects in space is possible.

Fred is wrong because you can move things on the moon.

I think that Fred and Sam are right because the moon has less gravity so the object would have less of a conection to the moon.

Fred is right because all objects that have mass have gravity.

There is gravity in space, but it would still be easy to move things with a small amount of force.

They are both correct, but Fred is wrong about the part of there being no gravity in space.

They're both right

I think that Maddy and Joe are right because wherever there is mass there is gravity.

Maddie and Joe are right. There is gravity because anything with mass has its own gravitational pull. Kind of like when your in water, if you kick off of a tube, which has very small mass, you move only a little bit and the tube will probably go far.

It would take force to start something moving, but it would stay in motion because there is no resistance.
