Science around the house scavenger hunt

Find examples of these science concepts.
The object must be something that you can see in person.
May the odds be ever in your favor!

1. Find something that can accelerate.
2. Find something that when it drops it slowed down by air resistance.
3. Take a walk and make sure that your distance is greater than your displacement.
4. Find something inside that was made from a mineral or rock.
5. Find something with a lot of inertia
6. Create your own action reaction domino effect.
7. Turn in your MLTI device

Year in Review

This year we started out with what makes things alive. We learned about cells and organelles.
We then learned that cells have genes that control traits, and how these traits are passed on in genetics. We studied Evolution and learned that living things have common ancestors. The year wrapped up with motion and forces and Newton's Laws.
Of all we studied this year what stands out to you the most?

Examples of Newton's Laws

A car is racing down the street, the car weaves in and out of traffic and jumps over obstacles. Can you use any of Newton's Law to describe what is happening.
Maybe this video will help

Gravity is everywhere.

Gavin said to Mya "There is no gravity in space" Mya corrected Gavin and said "Well little brother, I learned in science that, all matter has gravity" Gavin then asked " Then why do things float on the space station?"
What should Mya say to Gavin? Why do things seem to float on the International Space Station, when all matter has gravity?

Watch the videos and find out why.
