Short term memory for a dog is about five minutes. We know dogs have a long term memory because they can remember hand signals and words for their lifetime. dogs have one of the best memories out of most house pets

A cat's memory is thought to be at least 200 times better than a dog's.But as any cat owner knows, felines are more selective, and remember what they think is useful to them.Short term memory for a dog is about five minutes; cats remember much longer, up to 16 hours. Long term memory is harder to determine.

Monkeys engage in a distinct memory process that was long thought to be practiced by humans. They can remember that something happened but they can't remember what exactly happened. Much like humans do. So a monkey can a have either a shot term or long term memory.
I got this off of an article on TIME.

All animals have a nervous system, all animals have a brain too. when it comes to lamas they have a little under average memory (0.9 EQ). Humans have a way more intelligent brain then lama's do (7.3-7.7 EQ). the humans tend to remember more then lama's. although there memory doesn't have a bad memory. If lamas have a important memory in a specific place they can remember it for a long time.

I picked Lion. According to http://factspy.net/lions-have-long-term-memories/ lions do have long term memory. Two men raised a lion cub then set him free in the wild. A year later they went back to find him, Christian the lion was so happy to see them, so he did remember them. Wikipedia - According to researchers at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, the physical structure of the brains of humans and cats is very similar.[14] The human brain and the cat brain both have cerebral cortices with similar lobes.Taken as a whole, cats have excellent memories.

Gorilla's have long term memory. They can remember information about their personal past and they have episodic memory which is also found in humans. Someone studded a gorilla named King and he could remember the order of past events and where they took place.

1.) Sorry, elephants: Dolphins have taken the top spot for best memory, at least for now. New experiments show that bottlenose dolphins can remember whistles of other dolphins they'd lived with after 20 years of separation. The new research shows that dolphins have the longest memory yet known in any species other than people.

A tiger is my animal. Tigers’ have one of the best memories of any animal, including humans. Their memories are made with stronger brain synapses which means that their short-term memory lasts approximately 30 seconds longer than ours does.
Tigers have the same nervous system as most mammals. Their nervous system contains a brain, spinal cord and vertebrae. The vertebrae protects the spinal cord and is very important to the tiger's everyday life.

Blue-footed Boobies have a spine with a dorsal nerve chord and a post-anal tail. They also have an Autonomic nervous system which regulates many of the basic body functions including digestion, circulatory activities such as the heart rate and diameter of the blood vessels, and thermoregulation. This also helps regulate the blood flow through the body and where and when it goes. For example, at times of stress or conflict there will be a change in the distribution of blood.

Penguins are actually really intelligent birds. A penguin's brain is much bigger then their body is. If a penguin can recognize a humans voice, then it will remember the voice alone. If you leave a penguin out in the wild for 2 years, It will still remember your voice and come toward you. Penguins are close to the smartest animals in the world.

Penguins are quick at learning different languages and gestures. This aquarium put mirrors in the tanks and the penguins recognized their reflections. There memory is insanely good. If they learn, penguins can watch and respond to a TV screen.

Woodpeckers have long-term memory. Scientists observed woodpeckers and realized they chose their habitat based on their knowledge of the trees in the area and the trees of the homes they have already lived in.

Aye-ayes do have brains. Although aye-ayes don't have a memory, from what I can find, they do react to threats quickly. Sense the people in Madagascar see them as a death symbol, they kill them on site when they see one making the aye-ayes endangered. So naturally when they are endangered and they're in danger, they would run away.
