All about the square

What is a punnett square? How are dominant and recessive genes represented on a punnett square?
Finally what is the difference between a genotype and  phenotype?

The Punnett square is a diagram that is used to predict an outcome of a particular cross or breeding experiment.

Genotypes the pair of genes an organism has for a particular trait and phenotype is the observable trait present in the organism.

A punnet square determines what a baby ( animal or human) will look like.

A punnett square is a way to tell what offspring of an organism might look like. Dominant genes are represented as capital letters and recessive genes are lower case letters. The difference between genotype and phenotype is that genotype is an organism's genetic makeup and phenotype is the outward physical appearance and behavior of an organism.

They are represented by A and B. A genotype refers to the actual set of genes that an organism carries inside.A genotype basically determines the type of traits that a phenotype can have.

The punnett square is used by biologists to determine the probability of an offspring having a particular genotype
genotype is the genetic constitution of an individual organism

A punnet square is a tool to predict the probability certain traits in offspring that shows that
shows the different ways alleles can combine.
A dominate gene is represented by a capital letter and a recessive genes are represented by lower case letters
genotype is the pair of genes an organism has for a particular trait. Phenotype is the visible trait present in the organism.

A Punnett Square is a diagram used to guess what a child, offspring, or species. The dominant genes are represented with capitol letters, while recessive genes are represented with lowercase letters. (Ex. Dominant = R Recessive = r) Genotype genes are genes that are inherited from family. Phenotype genes are genes that build up an individual's structure, and behavior.

Anonymous said...

They are different because genotypes describe the genes inherited by an organism. Phenotype refers to individuals organisms.

They are dominant because because it helps the cross breeding.

Punnet square's are a cross measuring tool.

Punnet squares are diagrams that can predict what the offspring of an organism would look like. The diagram shows Recessive genes as lowercase letters and Dominant genes as uppercase letters. The difference between a phenotype and genotype is that genotype is like the genetic makeup and the phenotype is the way the organism acts based on its phenotype.

A punnet square is a table that predicts the genes of a baby. When you make a cross, the upper case letter is usually placed first so it's clear that the phenotype would be for the dominant trait. I dont know the last one.

A Punnett square is something that helps you predict what the offspring of two people will look like.

Jakob P said...

The square is a tool and dominant are upper case letters and recessive are lower case letter the diffenrce of a genotype is all the alleles in a organism and a Phenotype is only the alleles that show.

A Punnett square is the prediction of the outcome of an breeding experiment. The difference between a dominant allele and a recessive allele is a dominant allele is expressed if an allele pair is homozygo or heterozygous. A recessive allele is expressed only when the alleles are homozygous. Dominant alleles are represented with an uppercase letter, recessive alleles are represented by lower case letters.

A punnet square is a guess of a breeding experiment, the uppercase letter is the dominant and lowercase is the recessive, and the difference between a genotype and phenotype is genotypes are traits are passed down from family, and phenotypes are the physical traits.

The Punnett square is a diagram that is used to predict an outcome of a particular cross or breeding experiment. Genotype is used in a few different ways, but generally refers to an individual's genetic composition. A Phenotype refers to the physical and behavioral characteristics of an individual, such as height, hair color, blood pressure, or whether the individual has hemophilia or perfect pitch. Your phenotype is influenced by both your genes and your environment.
