Global warming still happens because it is a slow process, just because it's cold doesn't mean that Global warming isn't happening. It may also be because of the smoke coming out of chimneys making it so that more sun rays get reflected.
Since right know the global temperature is only at 1.4 degrees F it doesn't feel that warm but, inside the Earth its a lot warmer than you think it is.
