The plants and the animals undergoes the earth, million of years ago and make there fossils beneaththe land are known as coal deposits

It has been estimated that there are over 861 billion tonnes of proven coal reserves worldwide. This means that there is enough coal to last us around 112 years at current rates of production. In contrast, proven oil and gas reserves are equivalent to around 46 and 54 years at current production levels.

you can find them pretty much anywhere it tells you that there was once a river or body of water there

Coal is America’s mighty rock. Because coal burns at a slow rate for a long time, it’s more efficient as an energy source than other fossil fuels. And the United States is naturally well-endowed with coal resources—25 percent of the world’s coal reserves are within our borders.

The People's Republic of China is the largest producer of coal in the world

There are coal deposits where there use to be swamps and that tells us that the ground was swampy.

There are coal deposits where millions of years ago there were swamps. The coal builds up from decayed plants. This gets covered with sand and stone and then gets compressed into coal. The age of the coal can tell us how long ago the land around it was like this. If the coal is old, then the land was a swamp a long time ago. If the coal is new, the land was a swamp sooner than later.

If you are looking for where in the country, Wyoming is a place with many coal deposits. If you are looking for geographical, they are found underground, possibly in caves or ravines.

The area that the coal was in used to look like trees and a river, then the trees fall into the river and then they compress and heat into a form of metamorphic rock called, coal.

The largest coal deposits are mainly in the United States, Russia, China, Australia and India. What the deposits of coal tell us about millions of years ago was that there were many black areas in mountains.

The coal deposits although exist in nearly every region, but commercially exploitable deposits occur in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia. In 1999, China was the top producer as well as the top consumer of coal. The top three coal producing countries are China, USA and India. The order of consumption also follows the same pattern.

That information tells us that that area of land used to be a marshy wet area.

Coal is mostly in China and there is a lot in the United States. Think about what the Earth must have looked like 300 million years or so ago. The land masses we live on today were just forming. There were swamps and bogs everywhere. The climate was warmer. Ancient trees and plants grew everywhere. Strange looking animals walked on the land, and just as weird looking fish swam in the rivers and seas. Tiny one-celled organisms called protoplankton floated in the ocean.

Coal is found in Russia. The lands were probably heavily forested because the coal was made from plants over millions of years ago.

One of the largest deposits of coal is in Russia and the land must have had lots of plants before.
