Football and Newtons Laws

Ryley was watching football and said to Gage "This game has a lot of examples of Newton's laws of motion. What parts of a foot ball game or other game might show newton's laws of motion. 

 

Astronaut

Olivia wants to be an astronaut she was telling Contessa she really likes the powerful take off when the rocket lifts off from Earth. Olivia also said that you need rockets to land on the moon.  Why would you need rockets to land on the moon?

outer space

Fred said to Sam that it would be really easy to move things in outer space because there is no gravity. Maddy and Joe overheard them talking and decided that Fred was wrong, because it would take force to move something in outer space. Who do you think is right and why? 

Falling objects

Brian says to Carter that the heavier an object the faster it falls. Carter tells Brian he is wrong. Carter says the longer an object falls the faster it falls. Kadie says there are more factors involved when an object falls. Who do you think is right and why?  

Playing Pass

Matt and Liam were playing pass in the hallway.  Matt said it was a good example of momentum. Liam said it was a good example of speed. Grace said it was a good example of both because speed is related to momentum. Who do you think was correct and why?
