The study of one type of evidence of evolution is called embryology, the study of embryos. An embryo is an unborn (or unhatched) animal or human young in its earliest phases. Embryos of many different kinds of animals: mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, etc. look very similar and it is often difficult to tell them apart.

It can tell us how the baby animals started in the whom and as it grows it can show us how different it looked from the whom to the present. So it can show us how it evolved.

Embryos can show us that embryos all have gill slits and they eventually form into gills or disappear. Embryology, the study of embryos, can provide evidence for evolution in embryos because all embryos share a similar structure and have gill slits that become gills or disappear.

Embryos can tell us what evolution is and help us understand how organisms are related.
