The image shows field mice that are white and grey. The white mice stand out against the their surrounding and the grey mice blend in with the land so they are less likely to be seen by predators.

The bird doesn't see the black mice but it can see the white mice, so the black mice survive but the white ones don't.

Isabella S. said...

The eagle is eating the white mice instead of the gray mice because the gray mice blend in with the environment and the white mice are easier to see. This relates to Natural Selection because the mice with the camouflage trait are more likely to survive and reproduce then the white mice.

Alivia said...

The eagle is eating the white mice because they are not camouflaged.

rhyse said...

The mice that aren't getting eaten have a darker fur color which acts as a camouflage so the lighter colored mouse sticks out and gets eaten.

blaze said...

the pic shows that the rats with darker fur will survive longer then the rats with lighter fur.

Cordelia said...

Because there are two different colored rats.

taylor said...

the rodents that aren't being eaten have a phenotype of a darker color so they have camouflage in the environment that they are in. This picture shows natural selection because it shows that the animals with the better adaptations for their environment survive so their offspring will be born with those adaptations.

Nicole said...

the darker one can reproduce more than the lighter ones because the bird can only see the lighter ones so they can't reproduce as much as the darker ones.

Olivia said...

The eagle will eat the white mice because it can see it better than the gray.

The eagle is hunting and he see's some mice. The eagle eats all the white mice, but all the grey mice are still alive because they blend into the ground. The mice use camoflage.

Makenzie G said...

It is an illustration of natural selection because only the white mice are being eaten and the darker mice are not being eaten because they blend in to there surroundings.

Elliot said...

The variation in characteristics is how the white mice can't blend in, and how the grey mice have camouflage to blend in with the environment, so the eagle can't see the camouflaged mice so they survive.

Emily Martin said...

There are mice on the ground. The eagle fly in and takes the mice.

Lindsey said...

The rodents adapt, breed, transmit variation in fitness and characteristics to the new generation, and the others die off. The reason the other rodents die off in the picture example is because the new adapted mice blend in the ground surroundings so they stay hidden while the white version of mice standout and are eaten by bird predators.

Ember said...

This image represents natural selection because in the beginning, there were two different colored rats. Then, in the second photo, there was a bird that ate the white rat. So, the group of rats essentially adapted to there environment.

jocey😆baylie said...

The the ones not getting eaten are blending in because they are able to camouflage and the ones that are getting eaten are probably albino white ones, or there phenotypes are different which causes them to not blend in allowing them to get eaten.😀

kaleb said...

the black mice survived but the white ones didnt.

William Travis said...

The image is showing how mice that have that are black survive better than mice that are white. They survive better because the mice with the trait of black hair are able to blend into their environment so they can't be seen by birds and other predators. The white mice don't survive as well as the black because the can not blend into their environment so they are easy targets.

Abbie B. said...

The picture represents natural selection because the mice that are easy to see, the white ones, are eaten and killed, whereas the grey ones, that are hard to see, survive and are able to reproduce.

the population of white mice shrink and the population of grey mice stay the same.

logan belanger said...

the wight mice are getting eaten the gray mice are blending in

Hayden said...

the white mice population is shrinking because they aren't camo and the camo mice are staying stable.

Abbey said...

The white mice population shrinks while only the grey mice survive because they blend in and the birds can't see them.

Joseph said...

in this environment only the gray mice blend in and not getting eaten and then the white mice are not getting eating because they are not blending in.

Hunter Murphy said...

Some mice are darker then other which makes it camo into the ground/environment Which the hawk/bird eat's the mice so the white mice pop is going down as the darker one the black one is going up because of mating etc.

Julia Ryan said...

Only the gray mice are surviving because they blend in. This is an adaptation that the white mice don't have so they continue to get eaten because they stick out because of the color of their fur.

Delia said...

The white mice are getting eaten because they don't have camouflaged and the gray mice have camouflage.

madyson said...

The population among the white mouse is shrinking and the grey mice are staying the same because the grey mice blend in by their color. This is natural selection because their color is a trait they have inherited which allows them to blend in.

logan said...

the wight mice are getting eaten the gray mice are blinding in

Joseph said...

The gray mice are blending in with the ground so they do not get eat and the white mice get eat because they do not blend in.

Anonymous said...

camouflage helps the gray mice stay hidden so theres less chance of them getting which makes the mice that are white's species go bye bye :)

Tyler L. said...

In this environment, only the gray mice blend in from the birds. The mice adapted to the birds trying to eat them.

Meghan said...

the mice with the camoflage survive because the bird couldn't see them. if they diddn't have that camoflage they might not survive

Bridget T said...

The white mice are getting eaten because they aren't camouflage. but they gray mice aren't because they are camouflaged which is an adaptation to have the population stable.

Elias said...

The white mice are more visible to see, so they get eaten by the seagal. Over time the dark mice will survive and pass on that trait.

Anonymous said...

the gray mice becomes camofluage with the ground and white ones don't.

Ashley Stanton said...

There are grey and white mice. The grey mice have an adaptation, because it is camouflage. The white mice will be eaten more, because they stand out, while the grey mice do not.

Amelia M said...

In the first generation, there are four white mice and four gray mice. Then, a bird comes along and eats the white mice because, they stand out. The gray color in mice then becomes an adaptation because the bird is unable to see the gray mice. Being gray helps the mice because, they are less likely to be eaten.

Dylan .l said...

the bird is naturlly suleting its food

zander glidden said...

the grae mise do not die becus thay blend in

Travis said...

The bird is natural selection.

Kaitlyn said...

The bird is naturally selecting its food

eThAN KaNE said...

Some mice have camouflage so the bird doesn't go for it so it goes for the mice that stand out.

Kailey .C. said...

at the beginning there is a even color variation, the grey is a adaptation because it beneficial. the white mice are easy to spot, so the eagle finds and eats them. after a few generations the white mice are not as common because of natural selection.

Allie Nichols said...

The bird is eating the white mice because they are not adapting to the terrain but the grey mice are adapting to the terrain so the bird can't see them.

brandy said...

the white mice are eaten because they stick out on the grey ground while the grey mice blend into the feild. so the bird sees the white mice and eats those insted of the grey because it can not see they grey mice. in is natural because it is nature.

stella said...

The bird is eating white mice because the gray mice are harder to see cause they have an adaption which is the same color as the ground.

Fiona M. said...

This image shows natural selection because the mice that blend in with the background have a better chance of surviving than the white mice, because they are more visible.

Maia said...

This is an example of natural selection. The gray mice have camouflage to protect them from the predator. This adaptation will be passed to its offspring. As the white mice are killed off due to their lack of camouflage, they will die off and fail to reproduce. This will result in a population of only gray mice due to natural selection.

Travis said...

There are more gray mice than white mice.

Ava-Mae Hymer said...

This is an illustration of natural selection because the grey mice have an adaptation to camouflage into the ground, while the white mice don't and are killed off much more than the grey mice by the bird that blends in with the sky.

Anonymous said...

the gray mice population are incresing as the white mice population are decresing because sesce the gray mice blend in to the ground there using camoflaugh. and the white mice stick out so they get eatan easier.

eThAN KaNE said...

The grey mice had camouflage so they started to bled into the ground. There are more grey mice because they don't get killed as often. However the white mice don't have camouflage so they die easier and they don't have a big population

Anonymous said...

The mice that are gray are more likely to survive than the white ones because the gray ones blend in and white ones do not.

Anonymous said...

It is showing natural selection because it shows when the eagle/hawk joins the environment it eats the white mice, but when all the white mice are gone, the eagles/hawks start to die out and the white mice start to come back.

Luke R said...

This image shows natural selection in thus photo because with the mice they are grey and white so they have camouflage and that makes it so the eagle cant eat the grey ones and that would be natural selection but when the white ice die out they will start to come back sooner or later and the population would be fine.

Madisyn Metayer said...

The eagle eat the white mice and there is variation and if the white mice are gone the eagles will die off then the mice will come back.

Dominick said...

This image is about natural selection because all the grey mice can camouflage and hide form the eagle and the white mice can't hide from the eagle so most of the white mice die and then the eagles start to die then the mice population will grow and it just keeps switching on and off of having a big population and a small population.

Anonymous said...

This image illustrated natural selection because because the gray mice adapted to their gray environment via natural selection.

Jayden said...

This is an example of natural selection because there is an eagle in the air and mice on the ground. there are variations in mice like some are gray and some are white.

Paul Bellonzi said...

This image represents natural selection because it shows how the eagle can see only white mice and the grey mice are camouflaged in the ground so most grey mice will populate.

Allie D. said...

The image below is an illustration of natural selection. The image shows an eagle in the air and mice underground. There are variations in the population. There are white mice and grey mice that blend into the ground. The grey mice have an adaptation because the camouflage helps hind them from the eagle. Over the years, the eagle eats all the white mice and the mice are adapting into grey mice for better survival. This make the eagle population go down, however, it is an example of natural selection.

Kaylah Swan said...

This image represents natural selection because mice that are grey are naturally grey and the white ones are naturally white. The grey mice have an advantage because they can camouflage to the ground. The white mice have a disadvantage because the eagle can easily see them. Natural selection occurs when an animal is pure breed.

Izak A said...

the mice are adapting from white to gray because they are camouflaging so that the eagle doesn't find them and eat them. the mice are the pray and the eagle is the predator. the last picture the eagle is gone and there are less mice. that is because the eagle eat the mice and left. it also only eaten the white mice because it couldn't find the gray mice the were camouflaged.

Anonymous said...

it illustrates natural selection because the mice first start out with white fur then over time they start adapting and evolving into grey mice so that they can hide from predators but when they start turning grey the eagles start dying off then the process repeats with the mice growing their white fur back cause white is a cold color so they can adapt to the heat then eagles come back to eat white mice then they change grey again and this keeps repeating.

Jordan Hanson said...

This image illustrates a predator, prey relationship. The eagle in the image represents the predator and the mice the prey. The grey mice are more likely to survive because the ground is also grey. If the eagle can only eat white mice the eagles will start to die off and the few white mice that are left will have to adapt to their environment.

Unknown said...

IHDK but I am going to attempt to take a guess, I think the eagle is going to eat the white mice first then go hunting for the harder mice, the mice are the prey and the eagles are the prey.

This image is example of natural selection because you start off with white mice and grey mice then a eagle comes and the white mice slowly die off and the grey mice stay alive because they have camouflage helping them and then those mice with the grey fur
of a adaption helping them and then they pass down a trait of grey fur that camouflages them were as most of the white mice die off and then in the last image there is not much white mice so there is no eagle because theres not enough food.

Anonymous said...

The white mice are easier to see, so their population decreases faster than the grey mice. The grey mice use camouflage

Emily Morrill said...

This illustration demostrateds natural slection by the eagle eating the white mouse and not eating the gray mouse because the gray mouse was camoflaged.

Anonymous said...

This image illustrates natural selection because the grey mice are camouflage and they blend into the ground. and the white mice are visible by the eagle, witch means the eagles cant see the grey mice but they can see the white so when all the white mice are gone from the eagles eating them they'll strat to die out thenn the few white mice left will breed and theyre will be more white mice again
