Because he wasn't the first to have tat theory.

One problem was that a plausible driving force was missing.

Alfred Wegener's was a geologist who proposed the continental drift theory. His theory wasn't accepted because he couldn't explain the mechanism or processes behind the movement of continents.

Wegener's ideas about continental drift were initially rejected because he lacked enough evidence. This made it hard to support his idea simply because the continental plates move at a slow pace.

Because he could show no mechanism for the movement of continents.

There were more logical theories other than the continental drift.

Wagner's ideas were rejected about the continental drift because he didn't have much evidence, and he couldn't tell what mechanism for the movement of the continental plates.

Wagner idea was rejected because he lacked anough evidence

Because people were like, "Man you cray!".

there was not enough information to say he was right

Amber R said...

Wegener did not have enough evidence.

Lauren S said...

Because he did not have evidence and it was hard to prove because the continental plates move very slow.

One problem was that some driving force was missing, another reason is because some geologists thought that he didn't have enough evidence, you know, the ushe...

They thought they were too large/heavy to drift and he was a meteorologist, so they thought HOW ON EARTH WOULD HE KNOW MORE THAN US?!

He was required to have more evidence

The idea was rejected because there was not much evidence to support it.

he needed more evidence for them to beleave him

Wegener's theory of continental drift was generally criticized on both geophysical and geological grounds. However, post-World War II oceanographic evidence and development of plate tectonic theory in the 1960s have vindicated Wegener's basic conclusion that modern continents are drifted fragments of Pangaea. There also wasn't enough evidence for his theroy.

Wegener's Theory was rejected because he did not have enough evidence. In-fact his theory wasn't proven until after he died.
