We have spent the first quarter learning about the changing surface of the Earth.

Yes we have learned about the changing of surface on the Earth.We have learned about creep on trees, and seen it.We have learned about grooves and channels.Also about the three stages of a river, young mature and old.Those are some of the changes we have learned about on the earth.
We have learned a lot, we have learned about creep and if its steep or not, we have learned about runoff and what causes it, we learned about slop and what it causes.
An example of a slow change is waves eroding the shells and rocks on the ocean shore. This can take hundreds of years to be partly eroded. An example of fast erosion is an animal making a burro. This can take a few hours to a few days to a few weeks, but not a super long time.

One of the biggest thing that we studied in quarter 1 was the chapter erosion. That has a force that has changed the Earth for million of years and still does today. Sometime we don't even notice erosion. We don't think of even think of erosion that much because it is everywhere. There is so many slow and fast ways that erosion happens. A fast way is a land slid witch builds which collects water for an amount of time then in a couple second the whole hill side is gone. A slower way of erosion is creep. Over time the land on a hill slowly slides down the incline and makes trees tilt. So next time you go outside just think about all the types of erosion round you and try and spot them.

One fast change is when it rains on a hill the water washes down. Depending on the angle of the hill, it will effect how fast the water flows. Lets say that the hill is steep. That means that the water flows fast. As it flows down the hill the water picks up sediment. As it does this the path it flows in expands. Which means it is an example of fast erosion.
The first paragraph I typed had two examples. My second paragraph will have 2 or more examples. My second example of a slow erosion is Glaciers. There is 2 types of glaciers. There is valleu and contonental glaciers. Valley glaciers are found in mountain ranges. Contonental Glaciers are found on glaciers. Both types of glaciers move very slow. my second example of a fast erosional force is beaches. The ocean takes sand from the beaches all over the world. Because of this it is called a fast erosion. There are mechanical and chemical changes that happen to the earth everyday. Some slow changes are creep and beech erosion and ice wedging. Some abrupt changes are rock slides mud slides and flash floods that could move dirt and rock. The two most powerful forces of erosion are water and gravity. Then those two erosional forces cause tons of damage and cause millions of dollars in damage. Erosion is not all bad because it makes some of the coolest shaped rocks like the ones in Canada.
there are many aspects of the earth that we have studied in this past quarter. there are fast erosional forces and slow erosional forces. some of the slow erosional forces are glaciers, slump, creep, and slow moving water also known as a mature river. Some of the faster forces of erosion are a fast moving river or a young river, gysers, wind and grvity.
In the first quarter I learned a lot. One slow change is when a tree`s roots grow under a sidewalk it pushes up slowely. Because trees don`t grow fast it is a slow change. One fast change is when it rains on a hill the water washes down. Depending on the angle of the hill, it will effect how fast the water flows. Lets say that the hill is steep. That means that the water flows fast. As it flows down the hill the water picks up sediment. As it does this the path it flows in expands. Which means it is an example of fast erosion.
The first paragraph I typed had two examples. My second paragraph will have 2 or more examples. My second example of a slow erosion is Glaciers. There is 2 types of glaciers. There is valleu and contonental glaciers. Valley glaciers are found in mountain ranges. Contonental Glaciers are found on glaciers. Both types of glaciers move very slow. my second example of a fast erosional force is beaches. The ocean takes sand from the beaches all over the world. Because of this it is called a fast erosion. As the waves come in each wave carries away more sand. That happens all over the earth, all year long. Those are all my examples of fast and slow erosions.
Some examples of slow and abrupt changes to the earth's surface include, weathered rocks, landslides, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. Weathered rocks would fall under the category of slow changes. And finally landslides, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc. are abrupt changes.
This year we have learned about the changing of Earth's surface, Mechanical and chemical weathering. We have also learned learned a lot about erosion from water, glacier, and wind erosion. We have learned about runoff, slump, and creep. We learned about Stages of rivers like, young, mature, and old.
It's true that we learned about the changing surface of the Earth. First we learned about the more long term weathering like gravity, glaciers, and wind. Then e got into some more sudden stuff like sand, water and that good stuff. Stuff they cause include rock slides, mudslides, and avalanches. Lastly we learned about runoff, gully erosion, and all that good stuff.
The slow changes of the Earth are spread in wide ranges. A few are caused by animals, plants, carbonic acid, plant roots, and water. These fall under the category of mechanical weathering, and chemical weathering. The quickest change comes in the form of natural disasters, such as forest fires, land slides, rock falls, flash floods, tsunami's, volcanic irruptions, wind, and glaciers.
There are many slow changes that happen to the earth. For example, animals and plants can SLOWLY effect the earths surface. Wind, water, and gravity can slowly erode and change the surface of the earth. Then there are some more sudden changes that can happen, for example, landslides, mudslides, forest fires, and much much more.
Mechanical and Chemical weathering change the earth surface everyday. The three major forces of erosion are water wind glaciers.

The groundwater, the runoffs, and stuff like that.
