Are genes passed down the same way for puppies and potatoes? What do you think?

No because with puppies gens they get half of their mothers and half of their fathers but with potatoes they do not have a sex so they just make copies of them selves.
Potatoes basically clone themselves while dogs get things from there parents. like if a mom dog had brown eyes and the dad had blue eyes the kid could have a 49.5% chance of blue and a 49.5% chance of brown. but a 1% chance of Heterochromia where their eyes are different colors.

I do not think think they are passed down the same way because the puppies have a mother and father and the potato has its lonely self.
