Five Systems Vocabulary

We have been focused on five systems of the human body. Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Muscular, Digestive and Skeletal. Please post a vocabulary word with definition from one of these systems.

Compound bone is part of the skeletal system. It is Bone tissue that is dense and looks smooth and homogeneous.

cartilage= Is the end of bones are covered with smooth, slippery, thick layer of tissue called cartilage

A vocabulary word from the digestive system is the small intestine, and it absorbs nutrients and minerals from food.

Heart - the hollow muscular organ that pumps the blood through the circulatory system by rhythmic contraction and dilation. Invertebrates there may be up to four chambers (as in humans), with two atria and two ventricles.

A vocabulary word from one of the three systems is diaphragm and it is the muscle that moves up and down to help breath.
