This depiction is false because these species, although somewhat related, did not evolve from each other. Instead, they shared common ancestors. These ancestral species then broke off into the different species shown in the image.
It is wrong because this picture is showing how we evolved straight from these animals but actually we just have common ancestors with all these species.

We didn't evolve from rats.
The misconception is that we evolved from rats.
We didn't evolve from rats.
we didn't start as a rodent and become what we are today.
We did not evolve from them.
Um don't think we came from rats
We didn't evolve from rats.
we never evolved from rats.
Humans ancestor is not expressed by a line, it is a complex thing.
We did not evolve from monkeys.
rats**
A misconception that this may encourage is that evolution is a linear process and that we directly evolved from a monkey.

we didn't evolve from rats

hahhaa
Evolution is not just one species turning into another, so this picture this is off.
pickle
We didn't evolve from rats.
They do not necessarily evolve from smaller organisms and all though we have a common ancestor with the rat, we didn't evolve from them.
I think the misconception is the all of the mammals in the picture have the same traits so they all look alike.
what Ashley said.
It makes you think that species have to evolve the way it shows
It is wrong because this picture is showing how we evolved straight from these animals but actually we just have common ancestors with all these species.
The reason this is such a misconception is that evolution is not just one thing turning into another.
The misconception is that we shared common ancestors, we didn't just change.
we have common ancestors
