  3. They're different because the potato was made from one other potato and has the same genes and dna and the dog was made from two different dogs and has half of each of their genes and dna.

  13. No because a potato has asexual reproduction and dog has sexual reproduction.

  14. They are different because potatoes can reproduce on their own using asexual reproduction but making puppies would require two living dogs a male and female.

  16. They are not passed the same way because if you cut a potato in hafe and plant it then i would grow more potatos but if you cut a dog in hafe and plant it it wouedent grow anything.

  23. They are different because a potato does not need a sperm and egg cell to reproduce, but the puppies need an egg and sperm cell to reproduce.

  30. the genes of a potato and a puppy are different the potato has asexual reproduction and the puppy has sexual reproduction this is why they're different!!

  36. No, potatoes are reproduced asexually through mitosis while the puppy is reproduced sexually through meiosis

    ReplyDelete
  37. no because the dog is meiosis and the potato is mitosis

    ReplyDelete
  38. It is different because the potato used asexual reproduction to reproduce, and dogs use sexual reproduction to reproduce. Using asexual reproduction, the potato is just like the potato that came before it, but with dogs, they're all different because the DNA combines in sexual reproduction instead of simply making another one of itself.

  44. Potatoes and puppies have different ways of reproduction. Through mitosis, the potato is regenerated. This way, the potato will have the same genes as the one before it. On the other hand, the puppy is generated through meiosis.

  47. The genes of a puppy and a potato are passed on in different ways because the potato uses mitosis and asexual reproduction and puppies uses sexual reproduction.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The genes are passed on in different ways because the puppy uses Mitosis and has to have another puppy to reproduce. As a potato uses Meiosis where it reproduces by itself. :(

  58. The genes of a potato are passed on asexually through mitosis. In potato's there is only one parent so the genes passed on will be create an identical potato plant. The genes of a dog are passed on sexually through meiosis. In a dogs there is two parents so the genes will combine and and with statistics will determine the physical and mental features.
