Storing and retrieving a memory can help an organism survive because say that organism did something and almost got killed, they would remember to not do that thing again.
Storing and retrieving memory can help an organism survive because with memory it can remember what food it needs and where things are. Because if it didn't have the capability to remember things it would have a hard life.
An organism could survive better by being able to retain and store memory because they would be able to remember where food is, what foods are poisonous, and who their predators are and where the predators live and eat so they can avoid them.
It could remember pretty much anything like food, water, habitat, other animals and if they experience something bad like almost getting killed they will remember that thats a bady and not to do the bady again :(
Story and retrieving a memory is important for an organism to survive because you might forget that you need to eat food to survive, or need warmth when it is super cold.
The storage of memory is vital for all animals. It allows an animal to recall bad and good experiences that the animal can learn from. For example, if a bird eats a berry that makes them sick, the bird's memory will allow it to recall what the berry looks like. If the bird is able to recall the features of the berry, and remembers getting sick after eating it, next time it will steer clear of the berry, and remain healthy. In this scenario, the bird's memory kept it away from poisonous berries thanks to its ability to recall memories.
For this, I'm using a squirrel for an example. Though out the year a squirrel collects nuts, and stores them. When winter comes along, the squirrel has to remember where he put his nuts. The squirrel depends on it's memory to remember where it's nuts are so it wont starve to death.
Storing a memory can help an organism survive because your memory will help you remember where food is, where shelter is located, and where you can get fresh water.
