Two people leave from the same starting point and end at the same end point. One traveled twice as far as the other. Explain how this is possible using the terms of distance and displacement.
This is possible because you can have a different distance than your displacement. Your displacement is how far away you are from where you started. Distance is how far over all you have gone.
The displacement is how far away the starting point is from the ending point, but distance is how far you actually travel. You can travel a longer path around the displacement if needed.
Because say they are trying to get to a bench and there is a clear grassy path to get there so one person would go straight but the other one would go around the grassy part.
One person might have taken the shortest rout possible, but the other one probably went the longest way possible, yet they still went to the same place.

One person may have traveled the long way, while the other traveled the short way, causing them to be displaced the same amount from the starting point, but one person traveled a bigger distance.
One guy got lost
ReplyDeleteOf the two people the one that traveled the least used displacement, and the other on used distance.
ReplyDeletethe one that traveled the least used displacement, and the other on used distance.
ReplyDeleteOne person took the displacement route, they went straight there. The other people went the distance, they went around, not direct.
ReplyDeleteone person took a longer route to the destination, the other took a shorter route
ReplyDeleteMaybe one guy took the longer way around and the other guy went straight to where he needed to go.
ReplyDeletethe one that went slower used displacement and the other one used distance.
ReplyDeleteBecause the person that took twice as long most of took the furthest path there.
ReplyDeletemr distance here lovs to walk all over the place to get to point b, and mr displacement walk straight toward point a

ReplyDeleteThe person that traveled the farthest used distance, and the other used displacement.
ReplyDeletewe need to use displacement ha.
ReplyDeleteOne walked the least with displacement, and the second person what and used distance.
ReplyDeleteThe person that traveled farthest used distance and the other person used displacement.
ReplyDeleteOne used the displacement and the other used the distince
ReplyDeleteOne person went the long way and the other person went the short way.
ReplyDeleteCuz one guy was to scared to walk through the water so he took a longer way to the dock instead of just going through the water.
ReplyDeleteThe other person used displacement and the person who traveled the farthest used distance
ReplyDeleteOne person went the long way the other went the short way.
ReplyDeletethe who traveled displacement took the fastest and straightest route while the other was taking its time to look around was using distance.
ReplyDeleteone took a longer route
ReplyDeleteOne person went the long way and the other person went the short way.
ReplyDeleteThe person who traveled farther used distance, and the person who traveled shorter used displacement, which was more of a direct route.
ReplyDeleteThe displacement is how far away the starting point is from the ending point, but distance is how far you actually travel. You can travel a longer path around the displacement if needed.
ReplyDeleteEven if one was 2x longer than the other, they still ended up at the same displacement/end point.
ReplyDeleteBecause say they are trying to get to a bench and there is a clear grassy path to get there so one person would go straight but the other one would go around the grassy part.
ReplyDeleteOne persons siri hated them so it took them twice as long.
ReplyDeleteone person went the long way and one went the short way.
ReplyDeleteOne person went a farther way than the other. The other took the shortest and most direct route.
ReplyDeleteOne person took the displacement route they went straight there he other person went the distance they went around not direct.

ReplyDeleteOne guy went back to the starting point then to the end point
ReplyDeleteThey went a different direction
ReplyDeleteBecause say they are trying to get to a bench and there is a clear grassy path to get there so one person would go straight but the other one would go around the grassy part.

ReplyDeleteone person took twice as long then the other person
ReplyDeleteOne guy took the longer way around and the other guy went straight to where he needed to go.
ReplyDeletethe one who traveled displacement took the fastest way while the other one was using distance took the longer way
ReplyDeleteIDK!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBecause one guy took the longer way to get to the end point.
ReplyDeleteOne person took twice as long then the other person
ReplyDeleteThat one guy took the longer way around and the other guy went straight to where he needed to go.
ReplyDeleteDisplacement doesn't take the overall length of the trip while distance does but doesn't tell direction
ReplyDeletethe one that traveled the least used displacement, and the other on used distance.
