Give an example of an external stimulus that would affect the nervous system and how would you know that this stimulus is causing a reaction? You become thirsty and take a drink of water. What type of stimulus would this be?
An example of external stimulus is if you eat something that tastes good even if you said you would only eat one bite your brain will still say I want more, and the word is thirst.
When our eyes sense light, nervous system makes our eyes get smaller to let less light in. When our eyes sense darkness, the pupils in them get bigger. Another connection can be seen in seizures. Some people have brain damage that can affect their nervous system. This can cause them to respond to flashing lights by having a seizure.
It someone drops a book on the floor and it makes a loud noise so you jump. Taking a drink of water after becoming thirsty would be an internal stimulus.
