You may have notice animal tracks in the sand but, have you ever seen boulder tracks? If you ever go to the racetrack in Death Valley this is exactly what you will see. Rocks at the racetrack seem to move without any help at all.
1. No one has ever seen a rock move at the racetrack. What evidence do see from the image that these rocks are moving without human interference?
2 Develop and post at theory that explains the mysterious movements at the Racetrack?

It could be wind, earth quakes ect.
1.Wind can move the rocks. You dont see them move because the clouds of san cover the rocks so you cant see them.
2.Wind is what does it all it moves them while you are watching the race. You dont see them move because your so focused on the race.
In the picture you can see that the rock is being moved by wind because if a human moved the rock, there wouldn't be a track where the rock was carried away.
I think the rock moved with the power deposition and intense winds OR aliens from mars { the ones that stole water from us } think humans are rocks and they been taking rocks instead of humans and once when there done they throw them in the dessert and start to slide away.

Wind..
1. The evidence I have for it is that you can see the tracks of them without any human tracks moving with them and you can see no one has been around that area for a while.
2. And the theory that I have is that Wind Erosion can be moving the rock or the rocks could be braking off of the bigger rocks and roll through the desert.
My evidence is that if humans where there, the ground would show the tracks of the humans.
My theory is wind because it can move rocks with out humans so wind could move the rocks and make those tracks.
Wind moves the rocks. you don't see them because it usally happens in a place with a lot of sand and other small rocks. Also wing will move the sand an d cover the tracks.
The rocks have moved around the racetrack because of Erosional forces. My theory is that the wind is picked up the rock and moved it or gravity moved the rocks through the sand.
I see a bunch of sediment getting pushed to the sides of the rock. So it is kinda looking like the rock is making a road behind it. I think that their could be to ways one that i think everyone will post is Wind but what many people wouldn't know is when an Earthquake is happening it could make a rock go from one side of a state to another depending on how bad the Earthquake.
The reason the rocks are moving around the race track are because of wind and erosion.
My theory is that the wind is whats making the rocks move without help, because in the picture there is a a line where the rock has been moved by the wind.
Or maybe Gage is right!! YOU GO GAGE
The rocks have moved around the racetrack because of Erosional forces. My theory is that the wind is picked up the rock and moved it or gravity moved the rocks through the sand.
1. Rain and wind can move the rocks. You don't see them move because, there is a lot of movement.
2.Wind is what helps the rocks move you never see them move because, you are watching the race.
The reason rocks move are because of the wind storms in the desert the reason you cant see it is because of the sand blows up.they have not see it move because the race track is all sandy from the racers.
Rain and wind can move the rocks.
1. Deflation and abrasion are evidence that these rocks from the pictures above are moving without human interference.
2. My theory is that wind erosion can break rocks down and move them from one place to the other.
That is by far impossible, a rock can NOT move on its own without anything touching it because the rock would be a living if it could be a living thing, sand a rock is a nonliving thing so therefore it must be magic.
UHHHHH what?
The reason the rocks move I think is because the Wind Erosion moves them.
I think the reason rocks are moving is because of the strong winds in death valley.
it is magic
1. The tracks of the rock are evidence that these rocks from the above picture are moving without human interference.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!😂
It is wind.
The rocks are making a long trail. What makes rocks move on a racetrack is the vibration of the cars going by
👽
1. Wind can move the rock at the racetrack. Humans don't see it because it could only happen when theres no movement in the area.
2. It happens from wind and when no ones there it starts moving the rock because when people are there is wind it hitting them, but when there not it goes straight to the rocks.
hi power of wind pushing them
I think it is is the wind or the plates of the earth moving
I think its the wind
I think the wind might make this occur
It might be happening because of the gravity pull on the earth but I do not know.
i think it is the wind and the dust hitting it so hard it makes it move
The rocks move because when no one is around them the wind is only going to the rocks not other humans, which makes the rocks move from the wind affect.
hi hi power of wind can push the rocks :]
I think its weathering thats making the boulder move.
I think the rocks are geting puled or pushed by the wind and it could be geting pulled by the gravity or something.
I think that the wind could make this occur.

1. You can tell there was no human interference because there were no traces of human prints as in car tracks or footprints.
2. I think they move by sand storms or wind
Probably slid down where the race track treads.
I believe it is tiny critters pushing the rocks to avoid the sun and avoid getting spotted by a predetor.
My guess is that because of the lack of other movement, and habitation, wind and air has nothing else to hit and go off corse. So in conclusion, wind will move a rock around, creating a path behind it. That is why you will see a rock move without someone pushing it!
the rain is hitting it and the dust move
i could be wind picks up and transports small particles
well your right rocks cant move on their own but what does move the rocks is gravity.
gravity
I know whats moving the rock wind pressure and gravity yep PLEASE READ MINE IM A BIG FAN
Rocks can't move on there own but they can move with human interference. But the problem is there is no evidence of human interference. So I would say wind moved there rocks. Another possibility is gravity.
I think it could be either gravity, wind, and/or weathering.
My guess is that the rock is being moved by wind hitting the rock over time at a high speed.
I think of how the rocks are moving is because of strong wind or gravity to make the rocks move from where it was
It could move by weathering and erosion.
the rocks are like a magment to the core of the earth when the core moves it moves it is simple and if that is not it i dont know the wind?
The rock might have move by the ground has a pitch.
I think the earths natural disaster move the rocks like, earthquakes
I think that wind moves the rocks in Death Valley. Wind is an agent is erosion.
I think that wind and gravity moved the rock and leaving a trail behind it.
I think that the wind makes this happen.
gravity makes rocks move
My hypothesis of why the rocks move in the rock because when the cars go bye it pushes the rock creating a trail.
my guess is gravity or could be a sandstorm but that would cover up the tracks so I guess gravity.
I believe Small Tremors, vibrations in the floor, these a most likely reasons another reason is tilted ground causing gravity to pull it down.
They are moving because there are rocks under them and if there isn't a lot of friction it would be easier for gravity to move them.
The wind in Death Valley then was strong enough to move the rock that way
THATS NOT A COMPLETE SENTENCE🚫
It might be or could be like gravity moving the rocks to one place to another

The reason the rocks in death valley move is because of a combination of wind, rain, and ice. It almost never rains, and in the winter when it does the water runs down the hill and becomes a pool a few centimeters thick, which later freezes. The ice then begins to melt, and forms things called rafts. The wind blows these rafts, and then hit the rocks and move them. That is how the rocks move.
gravity
The reason the rocks may move is because of wind and gravity pushing them across the valley that why they may move
they move because of poltergiest
I think that it is wind and gravity that moves the rocks.
BY THE POWERS OF EROSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think there moving because of gravity.
At night, the ground and mud and sand gets really cold and frosty, and in the day when it melts, the ground is slippery and the rocks slide across. Also, wind and gravity helps alot :)
The rocks have little tiny legs
My threory about the rocks in death valley is ghost and the toothfairy
Somehow the wind gives a little Breeze and then Gravity does the rest
I think they move because of the Rain, Wind, and Ice
My hypothesis is that abrasion moves the rocks.
The reason that the rocks in death valley move is because of wind, erosion, and gravity.
The reason the rocks move in Death Valley is because of extreme wind and rain.

THE BUTTLER DID IT! IT'S ALWAYS THE BUTTLER.
the rocks move because of the smooth dirt/sand on the ground and because of the high winds since there is nothing to block the winds anything that the wind hits gets pushed so over short/long periods of time the rocks will move but since nothing is there to erase the paths it looks like the rocks just randomly started moveing realy fast
well is the land that the rock is on at an angel? if so I would think that it is a slow landside but if the land that it is on is flat then i would say gravity and wind....
The rocks move because they want to.
Sometimes rocks moves by wind or earthquake.
my hypothesis is that the rocks move by rain and ice wind .,,,????????
In Death Valley erosion can occur, not necessarily every season though. You see, the reason rocks move in Death valley is because of the combination of wind and rain, a big part of erosion. When its summer obviously it never rains, so the rocks don't move. But in winter there is a chance of rain which can turn into ice. When the ice melts it creates a raft form. The rock floats along and moves by wind. Then the water evaporates and the rock stops. That is my theory.
First, it must be a process that happens slowly, or very fast, since nobody has ever seen them move. Secondly, this has probably already been solved because of human curiosity, therefore my theory shall be pointless. Nonetheless, I will present a theory. Since this is a science class and we are learning about erosional forces, my theory will relate to those. I hypothesize that it has something to do with ice. I say this because I've heard that it gets cold at night there, and that might have something to do with it. I hypothesize that overnight, the rocks freeze, and in the morning, they thaw, and they somehow move because of that. Also, wind probably has something to do with it, but my theory is just toast (as in not good).
