Go ahead and Jump

Spencer is planning on building a bungee jump tower in his backyard.  He wants the ride to last 5 seconds. The town says he cannot build a tower more than 50 meters  tall. Ana says the tower would have to be greater than 50 meters to get a five second ride. Camden disagrees he saying the rate of fall is just 9.8 meters per second due to gravity, therefore the tower would only need to be 49 meters tall. Who is correct Ana or Camden? Would Spencer be allowed to build his 5 second bungee jump tower?

I don't know who's correct. And I don't know if Spencer will be able to build his 5 second bungee jump tower or not.

jared is right because the heavier an object is, the faster it falls. so if it is 49 meters tall, it could not last 5 seconds, so it would have to be 50 meters tall.

I have no idea

jared is correct the heavier object the faster it goes.

I agree with Camden.

Yes he would .

Yes he would.

I think he will be able to make his bungee jump.

No

I agree with Camden because it would not matter your weight, but it may have to be a little taller then 50 meters because you don't want to hit the ground when you jump.

No spencer would need more than 50 meters for his bungee jumping ride to last 5 seconds. So he will not be able to build it.

I do not know who is right.

Camden is right because 9.8 * 5 is less than 50.

Camden is correct because the building would only have to be 49 meters tall.

Camden is right because Spencer only needs around 45 meters to be able to get 5 seconds.

I think that that Camden is right because the math is right.

Camden is right cause Camden is always right.

I think Camden was right because he's cool and plays lacrosse.

JK the speed increases because it is falling faster.

JK! He forget the variable for speed increasing as you fall!

JK camden is wrong

Ana is right because Camden calculated wrong because he forgot that each second you fall faster.

i was wrong, Ana was right because it would be taller than 50 meters.

Anna is correct because Camden miscalculated, he was forgetting the momentum factor in which objects gain speed overtime when falling.

Ana would be right because the tower would need to be 122.5 meters tall for a five second jump but the town won't allow him to build a tower over 50 meters.

Ana is right because Camden calculated wrong

I agree with Ana because the object will go fast the longer it is falling.

Ana said...

Me because it has to be taller than 50 meters.

anna is right camden is never right

Ana is Correct because Camden forgot about momentum, and gaining speed overtime in the air or falling.

Jack B said...

Ana is right and Camden's calculations are wrong because Spencer would have to be 122.5 meters up if he wanted to be in the air for 5 seconds.

Ana is right because, 150 is bigger than 50. Camdens' calculation were wrong.
