I think that is Mechanical Weathering- Mechanical weathering takes place when rocks are broken down without any change in the chemical nature of the rocks

It Think it is weathering the reason why is that water builds up in a under ground stream and as that water is hitting after about 100-500 years the rocks will erode and make it small!
