Motion and Momentum B


What is the difference between distance and displacement?  Can displacement ever be greater than distance in relation to the position of an object?

distance is walking and displacement is not

Distance is how far you went and displacement is how far away from the start point you are. The displacement can never be greater than distance.

displacement is how far away you are and distance is how far you go

Distance is how far something has traveled and displacement is the distance from start to finish.
