Mendel experimented with pea plant's to see if the wrinkled and the round would mix but the peas ended up being mostly round because thats the dominant trait .
Certain genetics can be combined or blended; if you have two dominant alleles, for instance in fur color, since there is two dominant alleles from the parents the colors wont be blended, they will be combined into various designs or just be one color; with eye color, different genes and alleles can mix together and have two or more different colors in the eyes; I learned what "Genotype" and "Phenotype" are; I learned that mendel was the "Father of genetics" and he used Pea plants to experiment with and find different combinations of phenotypes; I learned what and how to use a Punnet square, and I learned the differences of homozygous and heterozygous. there, I think that covers that! ;P
One thing that I learned during this unit that I did not know before was how to use a Punnett squares I also had no idea before what homozygous or heterozygous were before the unit .
In this unit I have learned about phenotype, genotype, heterozygous and homozygous. I also learned about punnet squares and dominant and recessive traits.
alles
ReplyDeleteWhat do you now know about DNA and Genetics that you did not know before we started this unit?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you now know about DNA and Genetics that you did know before we started this unit?
ReplyDeletepeople can have purple eyes
ReplyDeleteThere are Alles
ReplyDeleteThat brown eyes is more dominate then blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know anything about alleles.
ReplyDeleteI myself did only know about DNA strand but now I know about the nucleus and the RNA an all that good stuff
ReplyDeletebout the alleles
ReplyDeleteWhat i know now but didn't know before is that you can have a dominant blue eye color but have the recessive gene as brown eye color.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know anything about alleles.
ReplyDeleteThat brown is a more dominate eye color.
ReplyDeletealleles so like you could have different color eyes
ReplyDeletealleles so like you could have different color eyes

ReplyDeletecf
ReplyDeleteMendel experimented on pea plants to find out about genetics
ReplyDeleteYou can have different eye color one eye can be brown and the other one can be green and you can also have a purple eye witch I didn't know.........
ReplyDeleteI learned how punnet squares work
ReplyDeleteI now know that DNA looks like a double helix latter with A,T,G,C. I also found out about homozygous and heterozygous.

ReplyDeleteI learned that there are dominant and recessive traits, that we have alleles, and that brown eyes are dominant over blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteGenes not traits.
DeleteThat DNA has a spiral staircase sorta thingy?
ReplyDeletei did not know about alleles
ReplyDeletethere are dominant and recesive genes. Genes are inside DNA.
ReplyDeleteWhen we first started i did not know anything about DNA or genetics or allies
ReplyDeleteI learned that we have alleles and there are dominant and recessive traits.
ReplyDeletedna are on chromosomes
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I learned during this unit that I did not know before was how to use a Punnett squares I also had no idea before what homozygous or heterozygous were before the unit .
ReplyDeleteI learned about dominate and recessive traits and how the dominate trait is uppercase and the recessive trait is lowercase.
ReplyDeleteI learned about genotypes, phenotypes, homozygous, and heterozygous. I also learned about punnet squares and how traits get passed down.
ReplyDeletei didnt no enything but now i no something
ReplyDeletei now know about the double helix and the dominant and recessive genes
ReplyDeletei learned about genotypes, phenotypes, homozygous, and heterozygous i also learned about punnet squares and how traits get passed down
ReplyDeletedid we get it right?
I knew everything but that the dna model had letters.
ReplyDeleteI learned about homozygous and heterozygous. I also earned about dominant and recessive traits and genotypes and phenotypes.

ReplyDeleteBefore I didn't know about how Mendel used pea plant's to learn genetics.
ReplyDeleteWhat Jacob Says: I know that there are dominant and recessive genetics.
ReplyDeleteWhat David Says: I know that phenotype is physical appearance, and genotype is the genetic makeup.
I know that Dna is seen as a spiral shape, and when you look deeper into it everything gets, smaller and smaller from the one before .
