Computer Technology and School
The debate is on about what sort of computer hardware we will use next school year, laptops or tablets. What are your thought about pros and cons of each? How do you think middle school would be different if everyone did not have a device? Please comment and reply to others comments if you agree or have something to add.

Next year I think we should use tablets because they are easier to carry around. I think school would be very different without technology because we would have to do everything on paper, and we wouldn't be able to look up anything that we don't know.

I think laptops would be better because they have a keyboard, can hold more data, and are more durable. I think having just a few computers would cause a problem because you would have to take turns using it. However it might cause less trouble because you really couldn't play games.

I choose Laptops over tablets because you can do more on laptops then on tablets. If we didnt have any electronics we wouldnt be able to search up most work and its quicker.

I think that a pro for the tablet would be that they are lighter and easier to carry. I think that a con for the tablet would be that you can download more games from the app store and if you were to block that then you wouldn't have certain tools you need for school. I think that a pro for the laptop would be that it is bigger and that it is easier to see and most people are more used to computers and not tablets. A con for laptops is that more people are more used to computers which means that they can find more ways to hide things and get games.
I think they should keep the laptops because you can do a lot more than on the tablets. The tablets are cheaper but they are a lot more fragile then laptops.

I think both are great. They are both very useful and helpful. Tablots would be smaller and lighter. There is also things that you can do on a tablot that you cant do on a laptop like download apps. On tablots it is harder to type though. Laptops you can type faster and easier and you can get online faster.

we should have laptops because its easier to type and you can do alot more on the web browser on a laptop when on a tablet you cant do alot.
Well I think It would be better to have laptops than to have tablets because Since elementary school, you teachers have been showing us how to use the computers, and even though not all of us will have laptops in high school, to change it all of the sudden on some people could get confused or frustrated with the tablets, because again-they are used to computers-. But a pro of the tablet-dare I say it- Is that you can't use the app called "spaces" on it like you can on your computer, which makes it so people can't hide their games and other things that they are sneaking on their laptops. But a con to the tablets would be WAYYYY more easy to break than the laptops, and remind me again how much a just getting a new screen costs for something rather than just buying a new one? and some people might take advantage of taking a tablet home and download games and other stuffs.
As to the laptops, a con would be hiding things you shouldn't be on, but a pro would be no one would be easily frustrated and they would get how to use the laptop better than the tablet. but if you only give laptops to SOME people rather than all, then we could have arguments, and people being yelled at by their teachers for not bringing their laptop/tablet to class for work. but either way, i think it would be better to have laptops.

PROS of Tablets: Lighter, some different software, easier to transport.
CONS ": Harder to type, harder to "click", harder to do everything that is suppose to be easy.
PROS of Laptops: Easier to type, and we are used to them... we know how to use them.
CONS ": Heavier, take longer to charge.
I think we should just get new laptops. Our laptops are out-dated, and ipads are a bigger distraction.

I would have to go with laptops because you would hove more types of things to do, and you would have a key board. With out laptops and i-pads the school would not have enough tools to research with. We would just have books.

I think we should have lap top because some kids don't know how to use tablets.Sometime you can type the word you want because it spells the wrong word.I rather have kids be playing games then kids talking when I'm trying to teach a class.
I like both laptops and ipads but I would rather use laptops. I would like to use laptops because they are 10 times easier to use then ipads. Any way it is harder to type using the ipad and I guess I am just far more used to the laptop then I am the ipads.
Laptops,
They are definitely more efficient because with typing and being in the 21st century we are moving towards having more technology usage with organizing and keeping track of what we have in our google drives. Also they are less likely to get lost because they are bigger and more see able, so we try to keep track of them because of that. We are also able to open up more than one tab which is good if we need it for our classes if we need to use more than one tab for more than one use.
Tablets,
Aren't all that great because they can get extremely slow and can mess up, they shut down if they get really hot, and if you drop it on the hard ground or something of the sort they brake really easy, they will crack and they screen will be ruined. espeically because of their small size. Also its not as easy when you go from tab to tab, which is more time to take during class, than actually learning something.
