Over time carbonic acid can dissolve limestone.

Carbonic acid is part of the system that keeps the pH of your blood stable. When your blood starts to get too acidic, it converts the excess carbonic acid into carbon dioxide and water. When you blood gets too basic/alkaline, it converts the excess carbon dioxide and water into carbonic acid.

1 the limestone would probably get small and break down in to little pieces.

2 it probably make you burn your skin.

when my dog died we put limestone on my dog purhaps when carbonic acid is on the rock it breaks down the items ??????

just like on history channel carbonic acid forms rier ways on teeth it will make a cvity (smart person answer)

Over time the temperature and moisture and then causes the limestone gets weaker and weaker.

We would get maybe a bad throat.

Aaran H. said...

Carbonic acid has effect on limestone and your teeth because when it mixes with water it will dissolve the limestone and your teeth.

Limestone is one of a few minerals to seriously be affected by sulfurous acids. Decrease in weight and structure from the release of magnesium salts is well noted. Yellowing will first be noted while release and accumulation of salts take longer. Over time, temperature and moisture causes structural weakening as the limestone becomes pocked and porous from the chemical reaction.

Carbonic acid is part of your body's exchange of oxygen and CO2. Carbonic acid will be lethal.

carbonic acid would burn/melt the limestone .The affects on the human body would be a sore throat.

Carbonic acid affects limestone by dissolving it. Carbonic acid would dissolve your skin.

Carbonic acid has effect on limestone. And carbonic acid can melt anything if it where to touch it for along period of time.

isn't alkaline in batteries I think it is ?

It would melt the limestone, it doesn't have an affect on the human body

it could affect the human body by giving you a sore throat and it would melt or dissolve the limestone

Limestone caves are often adorned with calcium carbonate formations produced through slow precipitation. These include flowstones, stalactites, stalagmites, from wiki

Over time, carbonic acid dissolves the limetone.

When carbonic acid comes in contact with limestone it dissolves.

the effects of carbonic acid limestone is nothing and the effects of it in your mouth is nothing because it is in soda

Carbonic acid can give people a sore throat. Carbonic acid also dissolves limestone.

breaks down the limestone after sevral years

Carbonic acid dissolves limestone.
Your bones and body parts would dissolve.

It effects the limestone by causing the minerals in the stone to dissolve and it might effect the human body by disolving the skin

it hollows out caves makes stalagmites and tights , and makes you burp.

Carbonic acid dissolves the limestone, wears it down and creating caves, and the acid dissolves the inside body parts.

Carbonic Acid dissolves limestone creating caves. Carbonic Acid does stuff to your insides!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAHA insides:)

Lauren S. said...

The Carbonic acid will dissolve the limestone or wear it down.

Nathan C. said...

When the Water gets on the Surface of limestone then the carbon dioxide "infiltrates" inside the water and causes the carbonic acid.

Journey B. said...

The effect it has on limestone is not the same as what would happen to the human body. It dissolves the limestone and creates caves and hallows. It might be the same effect on humans if someone is allergic to it or something, but carbonic acid is soda, and that has no effect.

carbonic acid has a very weird effect on limestone which is tan an when it goes on it it goes on it and then it makes it shirnk because the stuff in the carbonic acid makes the molecules in the limestone divide up into smaller particles and therefor makeing it shrink

Cameron T. said...

It kills limestone

Gia L said...

Carbonic acid dissolves calcite, which is in limestone. Carbonic acid has no affect on humans. Carbonic acid is commonly known as soda. It can only affect a human if the drink it their entire life without brushing their teeth. That would make their teeth rot.

ParkerD said...

Carbonic acid will erode limestone because limestone has a soft base of calcium carbonate.

Carbonic acid dissolves limestone. Over the years that carbonic acid has weathered so much caves can form. Carbonic acid does not affect the human body at all because it is more known as soda. The only way for carbonic acid to affect the body is if the body consumes too much carbonic acid.

jenny c said...

limestone would be small and break down to little pieces.

Lauryn R said...

The carbonic acid will dissolve into limestone.

morgan s said...

carbon dioxide can create the carbonic acid which will change the form of limestone. soda has carbonic acid which is week. carbonic acid can affect the human body by being consumed because it is the fizz in the soda that is unhealthy like soda is.

Carbonic acid can dissolve limestone. Carbonic acid can destroy teeth and cause cavities.
