Comments on the video: I think the video was good, but nothing new was learned.
i kinda liked the movie but i didnt really learn anything.!!!!!
I Liked the movie but i didn't learn anything
3 facts, There are three types of flow, laminar flow, turbulent flow, and jet or shoot flow.
2 Cool things, There are more than one type of flow and the are classified, and all example can found in Yellow Stone National Park
1 One question, What are the good part of a dam.
I didnt like the movie and i didnt learn anything
i sorta liked the movie and i learned how the Cayanyon was formed.
Facts: Mud flow has been captured on video at about 20mph
interesting: it took about 4 million years for it to form(although i don't believe that the world is that old)
comments: video 1: ok
video 2: cool :)
the world has plates
the grand canyon formed when the pacific plate slid under the North American plate.
i thought it was cool how the river went 20 mph.
Why was the first video so BORING????!!!!?!?!?!?
I learned that the grand canyon formed by two plates.
i didnt really learn anything...
one fact i learned was that lava can flow like a river.Another is it look about 4 million years to form the river in the grand cannon. The last fact i learned was that water can flow on dry land.Something i found interesting is that the grand cannon formed by two plates running into each other.Something else i found interesting is that water can move at 20 miles per hour. One question i have is why can water flow on flat land.
I learned the words terbulent and volasaty.
I didn't find anything interesting.
I don't have any questions
Mud flow can go up to 20 miles per hour .The grand canyon was formed by plates.
I thought it was cool how The mud flow was like concrete traveling.
1the grand canyon is still eroding, The rivers are eroding constantly, and rivers don't erode at the same constant rate all the time.
2. the grand canyon is big, and some things erode quicker than others.
3.How did water get to the grand canyon.
I liked the movie, and I learned how the canyon was formed and how the world has plates. The grand canyon formed when Pacific plate side under the North American plate.I also learned that it took 4 million years to form.
3 facts. 1. There are 3 different types of water flow, lamener flow, turbulant flow, and jet or shooting flow.2. The volocity of flow is how fast the water flows per a certain amount of time.3.There are things that can disturb the volocity of flow such as: Nature of the streambanks, the amount of water passing over a given point, and the gradient or slope of the stream bed.
2 things I learned: the first and last thing in the first question.
1 question:what would happen to river flow if there wasn't gravity?
Mud flow has been captured on video at about 20mph
three types of flow.
and my other one......
i didnt really like the movie thing.
i dont have any questions.
i learnt that the grand canyon formed by only 2 plates!
i liked the video and i learned nothing about it
1. Plates formed the grand canyon
2. Lava can flow just like a river
3. There are 3 different types of water flows, shooting, lamener, and turbulant
I thought the movies were boring
I learned that there are 3 diffrent kinds of flows. And the highest they go is 20 miles per hour. A part of a volcano is a channel. I found interesting is that the pacific ocean went under the alantic ocean and it formed the Rockies.
3 facts I learned are lava is kinda like a river because it flows like 1,also I learned the words terbulent and volasaty. They are 2 types of water flow.
I thought that the grand cannon video was interesting kinda.
I don't have any questions.
1.The grand canyon was made by a river 2. there are 3 different types of flows 3. 2. one thing i found interesting was the grand canyon was formed by 2 running plates 3. it took 4 million years to form.
1. what would happen if there were no rivers in the world?
How can one ocean go under another?????
Facts: The pacific plate went under the north American plate. Water can go 30 feet per second. Water can go 20 miles per hour.
Interesting: The grand canyon is 18 miles wide. The debris flow.
The voice in movie one was weird.
Facts: There was a Mudflow captured on video and it was going 20 mph. I learned how the Grand Canyon was formed. I also learned that a part of a Volcano is called a channel. The Pacific Ocean went under the Atlantic Ocean and made the Rocky mountains.
How are rivers formed?
I learned how the grand canyon was formed, I learned that lava could flow like a river.
I didn't find anything very interesting.
I don't have any questions.
1. 3 facts that i have learned are that part of a volcano is called a channel, There was a mudflow captured on video that went 20 MPH, I learned how the grand caynon was formed.
Why were both videos about rivers?
i learned that the grand canon started out as a platoe and that there are three different types of of water flow and that some rivers the water moves less than 1 mile per hour my question is why was the guy in the video so slow at talking.
Well.., The videos were cool... but the secomd one was boring and i didnt learn anything.
I liked the movie, and I learned how the canyon was formed and how the world has plates. The grand canyon formed when Pacific plate side under the North American plate.I also learned that it took 4 million years to form.
Two plates formed the grand canyon.
There are plates on Earth.
Lava can flow down the river.
5. facts, There are three types of flow, laminar flow, turbulent flow, and jet or shoot flow.
4. Cool things, There are more than one type of flow and the are classified, and all example can found in Yellow Stone National Park
3. One question, What are the good part of a dam.
2. learned how the grand canyon was formed
1. Lava can flow just like a river
The grand canyon was formed by plates.I learned that there are 3 different kinds of flows. One fact i learned was that lava can flow like a river. One thing I found interesting is that water can move at 20 miles per hour. One thing i have a question on is how can lava flow so well.
One of the facts that I learned watching this video was it took 4 million years to form a river in the grand cannon, I also learned that water can flow on dry land. Lava can flow like a river too.
1.Laminar,turbulent,jet flow.
2.Lava turbunlent flow
1.Why was the narators speaking so slow
EmilyM ~
jet flow
turbulent flow
gradient means slope
one fact i learned was that lava can flow like a river.Another is it look about 4 million years to form the river in the grand cannon. The last fact i learned was that water can flow on dry land.Something i found interesting is that the grand cannon formed by two plates running into each other.Something else i found interesting is that water can move at 20 miles per hour. One question i have is why can water flow on flat land.
One fact that I learned was that I never knew there was such thing of a Lava River , I found that very interesting. Another that I found that was very interesting was that rivers have tow types of flow.. Which I didn't know that was real! Last that also found interesting, was that grand cannon formed by two plates running into each other!! :D
I do not have any questions for the Movie.
I liked the shows I thought they were very interesting ;)
lava like a river grand canyon was formed by river and plates
whatever i learned i might have purposely forgotten.and the videos werent very fun and entertaining.
my fvorite parts of the movies were the lava, the grand canyon forming, and the contenental plates moving
Fact 1:When the water collects it can follow two types of movement, which we shall term...FLOW.
Fact 2:If the water moves smoothly through the channel and fallows the granular straight line paths we call this ...LAMINAR FLOW.
Fact 3:This can be seen in molten lava rivers of LaVaaaaaaa.
Fact 4:In Hawaii lava flows down the channel near Killawaya volcano.
Fact 5:Water passing through a pipe moves through it very smoothly.
three facts that I learned in this video was the nature of stream banks, the amount of water passing through a given point, and also the gradient or slope of the stream bed. Two things I found interesting was that a river can be so slow and steady but, it can also be very fast and unsteady. I also found that the Grand Cannon was formed by two plates running into each other and the rain water making the river right down the middle. One question I have about these videos is how water can form a river even on flat land. These videos were very cool and hope to learn more about rivers and the Grand Cannon
One fact I learned was that the canyon formed by earths plates. Lava can flow like a river. I also learned it took 4 million years to form a river.
1 . It took about 4 million years for the Grand canyon to completely form
2.There are plates on the earth.
3. There are many types of flows in Yellow Stone National Park.
4.The thick lava flows like water in a river.
5.The Grand Canyon was created by a river.
I learned about the Grand canyon and channels and something else that i really , truly forgot.
Here are the facts I learned two plates colliding together makes a valley. I didn't know that the grand canyon is over 2 million years old! And that mud and rock flowing is called dabri flow.
The interesting facts i learned i that Lamana flow is when a stream runs straight, an a terbulent is when i stream doesn't flow straight.
One question i have is that if what make a valley is earth splitting apart then why is the bottom of a valley flat?
1. it took only 4 million years to create the grand canyon.
2. Slow flowing water has a name.
3. water usually moves in a straight line.
1. Lava also moves in a straight line
2. That the grand canyon was created by water.
?????????? Why does water usually move straight even though the land is flat?????????????
The Colorado river dug out its own channel, but it didnt form the Grand Canyon. Thats really all i understood.
I learned that laminar flow is a smooth, gentle type of flow. Turbulent flow is a little wild because of inconsistencies with the river. Shoot flow is a very fast flow. I found it interesting that the debris flows can get up to 20 miles an hour. I also found it cool that the Grand Canyon is relatively young. The question I have is will the Grand Canyon get larger as time goes on.
1 how all the smaller rivers formed the wideness of the canyon
2how scientists said that the grand canyon was formed when two plates came together
3how water falls and rocks can effect the flow of rivers
one thing i found interesting was that at some parts the grand canyon is 18 miles apart.
another cool thing is that sometime truck size boulders come falling down the canyon causing more rocks to come down with it.
My question is that when rocks get in the way of the water in the river will eventually weather away?
Some facts I learned, were that sometimes from the tributaries, of the grand canyon "debris falls" will happen and they can move smoothly and fast. I also learned that the grand canyon was formed, NOT because of the river but because of the plates that are moving over each over.
Something that I found intersting was the debris flows that happened on the tributaries.
A question that I have is how do the geologists figure these things out.
i didnt like the video but i learned that the colorado river did not carve out the whole grand canyon.
Three facts i learned were that the grand canyon took 4 million years to form. Also that a waterfalls flow is called a jet flow. Lastly that lava flows like a river down the volcano side if its thick lava.
I thought that it was interesting that a debris flow can go 20 mph.
I don't have any questions.
1.) I learned there are three types of flow.
2.) I learned that 20 miles per hour is fast for a river to go.
3.) Lava flows flow similiarly to river flows.
Interesting:
1.) I thought it was interesting that the Colorado plato was formed by two plates colliding.
2.) Lava moves in a straight line.
Question:
Are they absolutely sure that is the way the Grand Canyon formed? If not what are other theories?
1.There are three types of flow, laminar flow, turbulent flow, and jet or shoot flow. Debris can flow at 20mph. Water in waterfalls can go 30mph. 2. Both videos I found extremely boring. Can laminar flow happen in air? (Laminar flow wing on P-51 mustang.)
FACTS:
1:I learned that the grand canyon was formed when the pacific plate pushed the North American plate and the two side of the Colorado river rose, but the Colorado river acted as a buzz-saw and kept the rock at a low elevation.
2: I learned that boulders tear loose from the sides of the grand canyon and small canyons that connect to it.
3: I learned that a debrie flow is when rocks mix with water and sweep down a hill in one mass movement. The flow mostly happens after storms.
INTERESTING:
1:I thought it was interesting that a river with rapids was classified as a turbulent flow.
2: I also thought it was interesting that water could move as fast as 20 mph.
QUESTION:
1: Do other rivers flow off the side of the grand canyon and into the Colorado River?
Facts: I never new that lava could flow like a river. Also I learned that rivers can have turbulance. Lastly I found out that it took nearly 4 million years to carve out the Grand Canyon,
Interesting: I found that river's and lava can have turbulance. Also that lava can flow laminent and like a river.
I would just like to know more about this information!
3 Facts I Learned
1: The Grand Canyon wasn`t formed by the Colorado River but side streams.
2: During a storm the side streams would fill up with debris carving the canyon.
3: During a storm the side streams force is the same as a cement stream.
Things I Found Interesting
4: The Grand Canyon at some points was 18 miles apart.
5: 2 plates went on top of each other.
My Question
6: What does the fact of the 2 plates stacking on top of each other have to do with rivers and the Grand Canyon?
Giant rocks can be moved by the river.
In only four million years the Grand Canyon was formed.
Grand Canyon was formed by plates.
Lava moves straight.
Hawaii is one big volcano.
I don't have any questions!
I learned that the Pacific plate went underneath the The North American plate. I also learned that there are different types of water flows. Like Laminar Flow, Turbulant Flow. Turbulant flow is when a river doesn't flow smoothly. Laminar flow is when a river flows smoothly. The Grand Canyon took about 2 million years to form and it wasn't just formed by a river it was assisted by moving plates. Two things I found interesting was that different flows also have different speeds. Like in the video when it is a waterfall the water obviosly falls faster thn others. A question I have is will rivers take over valley glaceirs or other things like that.
1. A. I learned that the Grand Canyon was carved by the Colorado River and its tributaries.
B. I learned that you can find the same flow you find in water, in lava.
C. I also learned that there are such things a debris flows.
2. Two things I thought were interesting were how the moving plates under the earth's surface created the Rockies and how there are different types of flows that rivers/streams can have.
3. A question that I have is:
I don't really have a question :\
the 3 things i learned were luminar flow, turbulent flow, and jet flow. One interesting fact i learned was that the grand canyons stream took away all the evidence from the grand canyon. One question i have is that why they haven't searched into it more.
Facts: The Grand Canyon was formed when the plates hit each other.
Water passing through a pipe moves slowly and smoothly.
When mud and rocks flow in the water its called debris flow.
Interesting: The Colorado River made its own channel.
Its called debris flow when mud and rocks flow though water.
Question: Why does water have weird names??
I learned that smooth water is laminar flow.
I learned turbulent water is rapids
I also learned that the Rockies were formed from subduction of plates
I found it interesting that the Grand Canyon was possibly only 4 million years old, I also found it interesting that the Grand Canyon is 18 miles across in some place.
How will the Grand Canyon look in 4 million years?
the three things that i leared were, 1. the grand canyon was formed in 4 million years, which, in erosional terms is a very short time. 2. the three types of water flow in rivers are, laminer turbulent, and shooting. 3. that some of the tributary streams were what made thecanyon so wide.
some things that i liked were that the grand canyon in parts is 18 miles wide and that turbulant is also rapids.
one thing that i want to learn is that how the gyser old faithful doesnt erode that area of the park.
Facts: 1. The Pacific Plate slid under the North American Plate creating The Rockie Mountains.
2. Many scientists think it took 4 million years for the Colorado river to carve the canyon.
Something I found interesting was that the Grand Canyon is relatively young.
I don't have a question.
The facts i learned are there are three types of flow laminar flow, turbulent flow, and shoot flow.
What I found interesting was how the ocean goes under the plate.
And Why does the 2nd video have a lady that compares a river to a master criminal?
Facts: Factors that determine a streams volosity,
1. The nature of the stream banks
2. The amount of water passing over a given point
3. The gradient or slope of a stream bed
Interesting Things:
1. Debris flows can travel up to 20 mph
2. Water, such as, the Colorado River can cause so much damage to rock
Question:
1. What caused the Pacific plate to wedge itself underneath the Atlantic Plate?
Three facts that I learned were that there are names for river speeds. Laminar and turbulent. Laminar is when the water (or lava) is flowing at a smooth, 1 mph pace, where turbulent is flowing at a rough, 20 mph pace. Also I learned that lava is also measured with turbulent and laminar paces. The last new fact I learned was that the Grand Canyon was eroded away while it was being created.
Two things I found interesting were that the lady in the second video compared a stream to a master criminal, and the second thing I found interesting was that most of the things that they referred to was located in Yellowstone Park.
One question I have was why they acted like 4 million years was just like two months.
3 facts, There are three types of flow, laminar flow, turbulent flow, and jet or shoot flow.
2 Cool things, There are more than one type of flow and the are classified, and all example can found in Yellow Stone National Park

i learned how it was formed
lava flows like a river
the canyon was created by a river
thick lava flows like a river
y is it called the grand canyon
facts: there are 3 types of flow(movement of debris) turbulent flow, jet flow, laminar flow,
