This is the Saco river. How might the color of this river and others change after a big storm? Also what is a freshet and how have they effect the towns along the Saco river?

the wind could blow the sand/dirt into the water and make it muddy water.
After a storm the colors of the Saco river will change because the wind might blow all the leaves off the tree and they might make the river very dirty
The water could become brown and muddy if soil was blown into the river or disturbed on the river-bed. It could take a while for the soil to settle at the bottom of the river.
The color of the rivers and others could change to be a darker blue because the water got deeper or it could turn a green or brown murky color because of dirt and mud flowing into the river because of the rain.
I think that the water would become dirty and have more of a brown tint to it because of all the sediment that goes moved around and flung into the river due to the storm.
Dirt washed into rivers makes them brown. I swan in Keezar pond after a week of big rainstorms. If you stood in ankle-deep water you would not see your feet.
The river would change color in multiple ways. In a rainstorm the water would turn brown after a storm. Because from the rain the water level will increase. So more sediment would be pushed up and mixed into the water. Creating a mud like form of water.
I think that the color of the would change because first, the dirt and sand at the bottom would be stirred around and make it brown, also it would have a lot of sediments from the land near it in it, second it would be more blue because it would be darker because if you thin about it, the deeper the water the darker it is like in the ocean.
I live near the Saco and after Irene the water turned completely brown. I asked my mom and she said the extra water had brought up old sediment lain down many a years ago by the river.
The color of the Saco river might change after a big storm because if there is a lot of sand blown into the river the river will most definitley, if there is enough sand, will turn brown. Also if it is a tornado, or rain/hail storm, the color of the saco river will become bluer because of the color of the rain. If it blows sand and leafs it will turn brown or darken colors.
The color of a river might change after a storm because mud and logs might be washed into the river, plus all the mud at the bottom of the river would be washed up. So basically it would become brown.
The Saco river and other rivers will turn brown and become high because of the large amounts of water being poured into the river. I know this because the saco is right across the road from my house and this is what happened to it after hurricane irean
If there is a big storm, then dirt and/or sand (if there's enough) will change the color of the water. The clouds covering the sky will also make the river appear darker. A freshet is a flood of a river from heavy rain and/or melted snow.
The blue colors will kind of fade after the storm because the reason why the water turns blue is because the sky's reflection is in the water and the freshet might effect the town is because it could flood homes and the water level could be too much for the houses to hold off.
A freshet is a great rise or overflowing of a stream caused by heavy rains or melted snows. They effect the towns along the Saco because a lot of the roads are along the river and a freshet could flood the roads. If the roads flood, then people won't be able to get to work and kids also couldn't get to school.
A freshet is when a freshwater stream flowing into the ocean overflows from a flood or a storm and that would effect the towns along the saco river (Buxton, Hollis) because if it were to over flow those town would be flooded and the roads would be blocked, grocery stores would not sell anything and other stuff like that!!! :)
A freshet is a flood due to a heavy storm or spring thaw. It effects us by the homes along the Saco River, flood and the roads flood. Also it changes the color of the water.
A freshet is a flood resulting from heavy rain or a spring thaw or it could be a stream or river of fresh water which empties into the ocean, usually flowing through an estuary. An estuary is a partly enclosed coastal body of water with one or more rivers or streams flowing into it
A freshet is the flood of a river from heavy rain or melted snow. This can effect the towns along the Saco river, by flooding and the roads would be blocked and all stores would be closed.
Freshets would effect the towns around the Saco river because the flooding would clog up roads and buildings so no one would be able to get anywhere and would have to stay wherever they are until the floodwater recedes.

It would be brown because the dirt would be mixed around on the bottom.
after a storm it might be even darker blue
The wind might blow sand into the water
The storm would mix the mud and clay from the bottom of the river and make the river turn a brownish color.
That the sand sides down into the river and the current go and the mud at the bottom of the river kick up and makes it dirty.
IT will turn brown because all of the soil and dirt flying into the river. I noticed it happened after hurricane Irene.
After a storm the water color might change to a green color because dirt and grass and leaves could fall or blow into the river.
it would be darker blue..
Because the sky reflects of the water so it appears blue in a storm the color would be different color
After a big rain storm the river might have white waters and big waves and will flow really fast.
The wind would steer up the dirt and make the water a brown blue color.
it would make the water brown because of the sand and mud being blown and washed into the river
The color of this river might change after a storm because the clay and soil will mix in with the water and make the water turn a brown color.
After a storm dirt might mix around at the bottom.
The color might change because the sand on the bottom of the river gets mixed up with the water when the wind is blowing hard.
The color would go brown because of the mud and the water from the storm would flow in to the river and make the color go brown.
During a storm it might turn darker because there's no blue reflection. After a storm it might be yellow because of the wood that could have fell in.
after a big storm the water might have colors like brown in it from the dirt and mud that comes from the mud running into the river.
The color would change to brown because of the sand and dirt moving around.
Because algae will thrown in with mud and sticks and everything else and it changes the waters color.
I think the river color will change color to dark blue.
mud and water will fly every where and trees will fall
After a storm the water color might change to a green color because dirt and grass and leaves could fall or blow into the river.
It would turn brown because of dirt and mud
The storm would mix the mud and clay from the bottom of the river and make the river be a brown color.
I think it would get stirred up so it would be a brownish color.
The storm would mix the mud and clay from the bottom of the river and make the river turn a brownish color.
the colors might change because the water rushes faster and takes the mud and rocks and other stuff into the river to change its color
It would come black because there isn't a blue sky to reflect off of.
The color would be darker because the water would be deeper.
How the Saco River water would change color is because everything would be mixed in with it.. Like Dirt.
if the sand or dirt falls into the water the river will become muddy

I think the color would turn a mud brown because the rain would make the mud from the bottom stir up
Maybe the river will flood and the water would go faster or maybe slower
It would be a muddy brown because sand, dirt and leaves would blown into it
the rivers could get filled with rain to make it cleaner
It would probably get bigger and then it would pick up stuff roadside and the water would be brown with trash and dirt.
After a storm the colors of the Saco river will change because the wind might blow all the leaves off the tree and they might make the river very dirty
it could get greener or bluer depending on the color of the rain
The water could become brown and muddy if soil was blown into the river or disturbed on the river-bed. It could take a while for the soil to settle at the bottom of the river.
Debris may come into it and change the color. Floods may make it wider.
Debris might change the color and it might change to a darker blue because the water is deeper.

Keezar pond is connected to the Saco river.

The color may change to brown because dirt and other things would get blown into the river.
The water would be darker because the sky would be dark.

it might wash sand and mud in to the river and trees in to the river.

A freshet is the flood after a storm. It effects the towns nearby because the water level raises and it might flood their town.
Also a freshet might affect towns around a river because there might be flooding and people need to adapt.

A freshet is a flood after a storm. The water could flood there town completely, cover roads with water so it would make traveling very hard.

A freshet is the flood of a river from heavy rain or melted snow.
The freshets might effect the towns a lot because there are so many freshets coming off the Saco River.
A freshet is a flood caused by heavy rain or thawing ice and snow, and it can cause big floods that can stir up sediment and turn the river brown.

a freshet is a rapid melting of snow of ice that goes in to the river
A freshet is a flood that is caused by heavy rain fall and melting ice and snow often causing floods
the road might flood and the hoses may get overflow and flood. A spring that causes a flash flood.
A freshet is a flood due to a heavy storm or spring thaw. It effects us by the homes along the Saco River, flood and the roads flood. Also it changes the color of the water.
the saco did have freshets because it flows into the ocean and it also happened to buxton.
Freshets can cause dams to break and houses to erode away.
A freshet is a flood caused by heavy precipitation. This could flood a city or drown animals on farms.
A freshet is a flood resulting from heavy rain or a spring thaw or it could be a stream or river of fresh water which empties into the ocean, usually flowing through an estuary. An estuary is a partly enclosed coastal body of water with one or more rivers or streams flowing into it

it would make it muddy cause poop.
Landslides go into river and also Mercury gets into the river
Christopher N.
what might happen is the towns might flood.
dirt mite fall in the river and make it look brown
dirt
The water will change color the closer it gets to the shore. The town will flood and landslides and mudslides might occur.
The sand goes into the river
dirt is in the river that's how the river turned a brown color.
the water might be brown because the storm will ster up the watter
the color will change because the mud will get turned up. i have no cule!!
