Response or Stored

Give an example of an action or stimulus that results in an immediate response. Also give an action that would be stored as a memory. You should think of examples of stimulus and response. Also consider time when you learned a new skill and use that skill later.

After you have answered the question above you may watch the documentary below.

  1. If you are ever in a scenario where there is a hungry wild animal, you would immediately know to keep quiet so the animal doesn't hear you. If you accidentally snap a twig and you catch the animals attention, then you would run away. After any of this happens, you might remember it so you know how to escape from a wild animal.

  22. A stimulus that would require an immediate response would be the floating ashes from a fire ignite your clothes and you feel the heat from the flame and you extinguish the flame by jumping into a lake. An action that can be stored as a memory could be shooting your first gun.

  30. Say you were on your boat, and you saw a storm coming. As a reflex, you would speed off and try to outrun it. You would store this memory in your brain so maybe you'll remember to check the weather before you go out on a boat ride.
