The most important part of floating is density. An object, like a rock, will sink because it has a high density. Most people (this class) would think that its because if weight, but you can put a miniature rock in a pool and it will still sink. Density also matters with the liquid. The denser a liquid the less things will sink into it. Think of a wiffle ball bat. If you throw it into a pool, it will float. A rock with the same weight will sink. This is because a wiffle ball bat is a lot less dense.
bricks don't float wood does and when you put wood in the water and then you put bricks in the water the the bricks sink and the wood floats up more and that is called displacement.
What does it take to make something float. How important do you think material is versus shape? 1.It has to be light and small to float more 2.i don't think that it doesn't matter what shape it is just the material
It takes certain materials to make something float, I think it is ver important because if you had the right material but wrong shape it could float under water!
What does it take to make something float. How important do you think material is versus shape? What it takes to make something float is the size and weight.I think it is important for different material like wood can float, and a rock sinks.
it depends on the shape and material most

ReplyDeleteThe different matierial sink and float. Wood Floats, Brick Sinks. The shape can once in a while make a difference.
ReplyDeleteIT DEPENDS ON THE WIEGHT AND SIZE OF THE OBJECT
DeleteI think that the material is more important because if the material is heavy it will sink but if it is a circle it doesn't mean it will sink.

ReplyDeleteIts important because the if its heavy it will sink. (:
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the buoyancy (weighing less than the water that it's in).
ReplyDeletealthough not all materials will float because it becomes heavier because it absorbs the liquid.
Deletedepends on weight and size of the object
ReplyDeleteIt depends on weight, density, and buoyancy
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the weight and size of the object
ReplyDeleteDensity and Buoyancy also
Deleteyou need bouyancy to be able to have something float

ReplyDeleteIts important because the if its heavy it will sink and if it is not heavy and it is light it will float. I dont think the shape matters.

ReplyDeleteI think both shape and material affect how it will float, and for it to float, you need a buoyant force.
ReplyDeleteI definelty think the shape and material effect how it floats.
ReplyDeleteyou need bouyant force to make it float, and shape and material affect how it floats.
ReplyDeleteThe wood floats the best :)
ReplyDeleteYou need bouyant force to make them float :)
you need bouyant force to make it float, and shape and material affect how it floats. :) also the weight affects it too.
ReplyDeletethe shape doesn't make a difference
ReplyDeleteWhat does it take to make something float. How important do you think material is versus shape?
ReplyDeleteIt really depends on weight and size of the object.
