One of the three conditions that must be met for natural selection is a difference in fitness. The different traits must help the individual organism survive and reproduce. How did a different trait help the cactus survive and reproduce? What evidence is in the picture to show the cactus is reproducing?
The spikes help so no animal can eat it but you can tell because theres more growing to it and theres flowers growing on it.
ReplyDeleteThe cactus has spikes and that protected it, so it had time to reproduce. My evidence is that you can see that the cactus is blooming and in the next picture it shows a little tiny cactus.

ReplyDeleteThe spikes acted like a layer of protection to keep the cactus safe to reproduce and just survive. The other one had nothing to protect itself so it died before it could reproduce.
