  1. yes it would need thrust to land on the moon because it probably wouldn't have enough power to land on the moon so the acceleration would help

  4. The moon has no atmosphere to slow down objects with air resistance. The lunar lander would need to use thrust from the rocket to push back on the moon’s gravity to slow it down. This is an example of Newton’s Third Law.
