Five Systems Vocabulary

We have been focused on five systems of the human body. Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Muscular, Digestive and Skeletal. Please post a vocabulary word with definition from one of these systems.

  10. Heart - the hollow muscular organ that pumps the blood through the circulatory system by rhythmic contraction and dilation. Invertebrates there may be up to four chambers (as in humans), with two atria and two ventricles.
