the geological time scale measures from when earth was first created to present day now today we can find fossilized bone from the early cambrian period its like history when you look in a text book to find out about the revolutionary war with this scientist work with archeologists when they find fossils to examine and find out what species and how old the specamine is to relate it to the age it was when it died.
What I know about geological time is that it is the studying of fossils dating back to dinosours and arcolagists find and study the bone to find out what kinds of animals lived before humans and you can study animals today.(You don't really study animals you study there fossils from when they died then got plated in mud sand and other miniral type substances to make it a fossil.)

it is used by geologists, paleontologists, and other Earth scientists to describe the timing and relationships of events that have occurred during Earth's history.
Rock strata shows the layers of rock changing through time, fossils show where dinosaurs once lived and died, and the continental drift was when the great continent, Pangea deformed and separated into our current continents, and the Ice Age was when almost the entire surface area of Earth was covered in ice. I remember more but can't recall all of it.
Geological time is split up into eras, periods, and eon. Geological time is basically to split up different earth types such as the jurastic period because thats when the earth was filled with creatures that are in jarastic park. We did learn a little about geological time last year.
the oldest is way at the bottom,4.8 billion years ago date when earth was created and the youngest is all the way up here with dirt and other materials
