A strong sense memory could benefit an organism by keeping it from becoming sick. An example of this is if that animal got a sickness from something, it's sense memory could keep it from becoming sick from that same thing again.

you can remember what oil smells like. this is completely off topic but I watched the first 3 seasons of brain games and did you know that your brain remembers bad or scary memories easier.
