What have you learned ?

Tell me what you now know about plate tectonics? What are some interesting facts that you have learned the theory of plate tectonics?

  3. All i know is that they have something about earth quakes

    ReplyDelete
  4. They pull apart and when they come back together and rub against each other on a fault line that is what causes an earthquake. They can also cause a tsunami if the ocean floor cracks.

  5. There are a lot more than I thought. I didn't know that they moved.

  8. This is what I know about plate tectonics. Plate tectonics are plates that are part of the earth's crust. Also this scientist named Alfred Wegener thought that plate tectonics was the cause of continental drift witch is true.

  9. What i know about plate tectonics is that their are 18 major plates in the world. When two plates rub together in the other way from the other one makes a reverse fault. Plate tectonics have a huge part in the continental drift theory. Plate tectonics help seafloor spreding help.

I have learned that there are three types of plate tectonic boundaries: convergent, transform, and divergent. Plate tectonics is the reason why we have volcanoes and earthquakes. There are at least 16 tectonic plates that are underneath the surface of the Earth. The plates grind, colllide, and pull against each other, thus creating rising currents.

  16. I know that they move continents. And they create earth qaukes.

    ReplyDelete
  17. They are thing that move under ground and when they move so much it will make a earthquake

  22. Thay move con conteno
ntes and they cause earth quakes

  23. I know that they move continents.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I know that they move over time and there is a lot of them and that they are under the earth.

    ReplyDelete
  25. plate tectonics are the cause of earthquakes

    ReplyDelete
  26. i've learned that plate techtonics have slowly moved earth over the millions of years earth has existed

    ReplyDelete
  27. they make earthquakes and mountains

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't know much but i know there are a lot of them.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't really know very much about plate techtonichs but I do know that that they are the cause of earthquakes and that they dont fully touch.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Plate Techtonics have moved Earth very slowly over many years. They cause Earth Quakes, Mountains and others.

    ReplyDelete
  31. well i know that they use satellite and with the satellite they can tell when or were the continents move and what year.

    ReplyDelete
  32. plantes collide, pull apart and grined

    ReplyDelete
  33. The tectonic plates are the cause of a thin layer of rock. Tectonic plates cause earthquakes and it alson causes mountains and volcanos to form.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Plate tectonics are plates underground in earth. They can create earthquakes and volcanoes. They also are a big part of how the continents got to the places they are today.

    ReplyDelete
  35. plate tectontic is the plates and when they hit earthquakes happen.

    ReplyDelete
  36. plate tectonics can cause earth qwakes and mutch more and it moves the contrys

    ReplyDelete
  37. I know that plate tectonics are under the earth h, and that they can sometimes create mountains, and volcanos. I don't have any interesting facts.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I know that plate tectonics are the underground rock plates that are constantly shifting and causing earthquakes.

    ReplyDelete
  39. That they are like a shifting, giant, magical puzzle! And, they push together, making giant mountions! Like mnt everest, also... Did you know mnt everest grows about a inch every year?

    ReplyDelete
  40. they create earthquakes

    ReplyDelete
  41. that is was 30 to 60 miles thick and 6000 miles wide. the youngest rock is actually is in the center of the ocean.
Alfred Wegener was the first person to find out plate tectonics.

  42. Plate tectonics are what cause the earth to have freak muscle spasm called earth quakes.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I know that they can cause earthquakes

    ReplyDelete
  44. plate tectonics that are moving or sliding under ground force. Plate tectonics can make Earthquakes.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I know nothing about plate tectonics. But I know that they move and break stuff. I guess I do know something about plate tectonics. I know you thought me stuff about them but I forgot, Sorry. ;(

    ReplyDelete
  46. I have learned that plate tectonics control if earthquakes happen and it can cause volcanoes to form

    ReplyDelete
  47. Plate techtonics are amazing but dangerous they hold are earth together if they crash earth qauke

    ReplyDelete
  48. I learned that there are three different ways plates CAn INTERaCT wITH eACHOTher

  49. Plate Tectonics are plates underneath the Earth's surface and moves the surface of the Earth.

  50. I know some interesting things about plate tectonics and one of those things are that scientists believe that the earths core heats up stone while forcing it to the surface. While this is happening the earths crust is being forced apart. When plates have a head on collision mountains are created. When the crust cools it withdraws back into the earth bringing plant matter with it. This plant matter heats up creating magma which then leads to volcanos. Volcanos the erupt creating islands. I also know that earthquakes are created when tension is released through tectonic plates. When the tension is released the crust snaps creating an earthquake. Earthquakes lead to tsunamis and tsunamis lead to the destruction of cities. Now i'm just of topic back to plate tectonics. Plate tectonics are what moves the continents. Soon the continents will come back together creating a new super continent. Then we will all most likely die. This is all I know about plate tectonics.

  51. I also know that I spelt tout wrong(I spelt it as thought). Sorry to all the English teachers but I will spell I right now... tout. There you go...

    ReplyDelete
  52. When the plates hit each other one goes under creating earthquakes sometimes creating volcanos plates move slowly. Alfred Wangnar came up with continental drift and whats his face discovered seafloor spreading

    ReplyDelete
  53. I spelt it wrong agen!!!!! All of the English teachers are probably looking at this and being like "he needs a dictionary." I know I do now I will spell it right agen... taught.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Now I spelt again wrong sorry. I spelt it right up there so I will not re spell it down here. Please get a dictionary. (Just kidding.)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Over there sorry. I mess up a lot.

  56. Plate tectonics is the outer layer of the Earth. Plates move when hot rock rise and hot air come up and then plate tectonics move.

  65. I know that Plate Tectonics more very slowly and can make houses roads and more Get React and they can make huge holes in the ground there very dangerous.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I know that they are the crust of the earth.

    ReplyDelete
  67. There is a bunch of plates in the world like the Eurasian plate.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I know that plate tectonics cause the continents to slowly shift, and also play into volcanoes and earthquakes.
