The two rabbits with the same genes wouldn't be the same color if one was raised in Texas and the other one in Maine because the of the different climates.
They're adapted to different environments. For instance, the ones in southern Texas would have sandy colored skin to adapt to that specific type of environment unlike the ones in Maine. It's natural selection.
The Rabbits might have different colors but same gene because someone else in there family line (not the parents but maybe grandparents) has that color fur
