Why Renewable ?

Why are renewable resources not used if they are better for the environment?

  1. I think they aren't used because they're more expensive.

  2. We do not use them, because if we use them to much u could run out of them.

  3. We don't use them because the have very bad disadvantages.

  4. I this they aren't used as much because they dont conduct as much energy.

  5. They are limited in supply and will one day be depleted. ... Certainly, if there were a way that fossil fuels can be mined and used in ways that

  6. There a couple of reasons actually, one of the reasons is it may not be as powerful, also, it could be expensive or pollute the air.

    1. Scratch that, it does not pollute, but, it can be hard to turn to energy or process.

  7. Renewable energy helps because you can reuse the energy for something else and doesn't pollute the atmosphere the gas we use has smoke that goes up to the atmosphere and that is what also causes Global Warming.

i think the reason they do not use renewable resources is because they don't get it with the word RENEWABLE means that it can be used over and over again... so i am assuming they are not using it because they are dum.

  10. An overview of the environmental impacts of renewable energy sources such as ... do substantially more harm than renewable energy sources by most measures, ... most sustainable ways to generate electricity as it produces no toxic pollution or ... of the technology they use to convert the resource to electricity (direct steam, ...

  11. Because they are very expensive.

  12. Because most to all renewable resources have had disadvantages

  13. Some people do use renewable resources but the people that do not are making more money and it is cheaper to not use the nonrenewable.Like he said in the video yesterday.Oil is less expensive because it is everywhere and is easy to obtain.

  14. They are not used because they are expensive and some are still in progress.

  15. Renewable sources are a lot more expensive. With solar power, the average price per kilowatt-hour is 5.6 cents, while with Fossil Fuels are around 6.6 cents. BUT, renewable sources take longer to set up, like solar panels. Some ways to use renewable energy, you have to live in a certain environment. For example, for a Tidal Turbine to be used to power your house, you have to live in a place where a Tidal Turbine can be used. If we use these sources, we have to keep these sources new and safe, which means we have to pay money. Even people who do not use Renewable Resources have to pay small taxes to keep windmills, and tidal turbines running.

  16. Some renewable resources are vary expensive and still in development.

  17. People are to lazy to use them and they are hard to find

  18. some of them are expensive

  19. They might no be used because they might be in development or people might be happy with the way they get these thing now and dont want to change them.

  20. Because renewable resources are expensive, and sometimes they don't work in certain places. Like wind power, they don't work in places with low wind speeds, and not much wind.

  21. Solar Power coast a lot of money and Gas is going down so why would you pay more for something that is the same as Gas.

    1. Research is the most expensive part.

  24. Most of the renewable resources are stopped by money or people who love their land and dont want to give it up.

  25. Most of the renewable resources cost a lot, An example is a windmill can call 2000$ +.

    ReplyDelete
  26. They probably don't use renewable resources because they are more expensive and you can only use them in certain places. For example, you could use wind power in one place, but might not be able to use it in another.

  27. Renewable resources are not being used as much because they are expensive and they take a lot of electricity to generate.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, one big reason is that they cost a lot more than fossil fuels.

  29. Maybe renewable resources are more expensive and you can only use them in certain places.

  31. Because expensive prices for the materials.

  32. We don't use them because we have better things and they cost a lot of money.

    ReplyDelete
  33. One reason why renewable resources are not being used as much is because they cost more than fossil fuels.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Because people give a lot of money and work into getting them ready for others to use.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Renewable resources are more expensive than non renewable which is why we use those instead.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The reason there not used as much is because they are expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  37. We don't use much renewable resources because it takes awhile to dig and extract the resources and the non renewable resources are almost instant and don't need to be either boiled, extracted or shipped to a plant.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Because Energy sources like hydrogen, cause 0 pollution, but are hard to form, you need to create it from different elements and chemicals.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think is because it is harder to get than nonrenewable resources.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Because sometimes we do not have the things to form it or harvest it.

    Sometimes they are exspensive.

  42. The problem is fossil fuels are non-renewable. They are limited in supply and will one day be depleted. There is no escaping this conclusion. Fossil fuels formed from plants and animals that lived hundreds of millions of years ago and became buried way underneath the Earth’s surface where their remains collectively transformed into the combustible materials we use for fuel.
