Rocks can be made out of many things, depending on their spot in the rock cycle. Some rocks are igneous rocks, made out of molten lava. The igneous rocks then cool and turn into sediments. The sediments then turn into sedimentary rocks. The sedimentary rocks turn into metamorphic rocks, and then back to molten lava.
Rocks are made out of magma that is cooled down and turned into a solid hard ingenious rock, other rocks are also formed when smaller broken down rock that gets compressed and can turn in to soled rock.
A rock can be made up of only one mineral or, as shown in the figure, a rock can be made up of a number of different minerals. So, rocks are composed of one or more minerals and minerals are composed of one or more elements.
Almost all rocks made of minerals, but different rocks contain different mixtures of minerals. Granite, for example, consists of quartz, feldspar, and mica.
