Forces of Erosion

Name three erosional forces, and explain if you think they cause small scale changes to the surface of the  Earth or large scale changes.

  1. The three forces of erosion are wind, water, and gravity. They cause small scale changes daily, but over time, these small scale changes turn into large scale changes.

  5. Wind water and gravity are three forces of erosion. They are large scale changes to the earth because wind helps move rocks from place to place, water has carbonic acid that breaks down rocks slowly, and lastly gravity pulls rocks down hills causing rockslides.

  8. Three forces of erosion are wind, water, and gravity. They cause small changes in a small period of time, BUT over time, small changes turn into large changes.

  9. Three erosional forces are gravity, wind and water. I think gravity is a large scale change because it causes slump, creep, rockfalls and mudflows. I think water is a large scale change because it smooths rocks out. Also, I think that wind is definitely a large scale change because it makes holes and dents in rocks. So, to sum it all up, gravity, wind and water are all large scale changes.

  19. Three erosional forces are gravity, water and wind. I think that gravity is a large scale change because it creates creep, rockfalls, mudflows and slump. Water also is a large scale change because it makes rocks soothe. I also think that wind is a large scale change because it creates holes, dents and other different changes in rocks.

  23. Three forces are wind, gravity, and water. Gravity has a large scale change because it can do more dangerous/greater things. Water also has a large Force because water can move fast and make mudflows if it mixes with dirt. Wind is also is a large scale because of tornados and wind storms.

  26. Three forces of erosion is wind, gravity and water. there all very powerful. gravity can make mudflows, slump and creep. water can make glaciers ice plucking and the waves can weather down rocks to. and lastly wind can make holes and dents in rocks after a long period of time

  31. The three erosional forces are gravity, wind, and glaciers. I think that they can cause both large and small scale changes to the earth. Depending how big the glacier is, how much wind there is, and how big the rockfalls, slumps, and creeps are due to gravity. So I think that it depends how big it is to be a large scale or small scale.

  44. Three erosional forces are wind, water and gravity. I think any of them can make small or large scale changes depending on how strong they are. For example gravity could pull a small rock down a hill, or a huge piece of rock falling from the top of a mountain.

  45. Gravity,Water,Wind, are all forces of erosion.

  46. Abrasion, Deflation, and Slump. Slump causes large scale changes but the other agents cause small scale changes.

  48. Three erosional forces are glaciers wind and gravity. They can cause both small scale changes and large scale. Glaciers create large scale changes, wind creates small scale changes and gravity creates small scale changes.

  49. Wind: Wind will pick up lose and soft sediments, those sediments can hit rocks and weaken them, this factor could cause a sand storm if high and strong winds are present.

Glaciers: Glaciers can create valleys by slowly eroding away rock by picking it up and moving it to a different place.

This next one is not a answer to the blog but it is a version of erosion.

Water: Water can create erosion many ways, it can go in a pocket of rock and weaken it, it can use force such as a ocean wave pounding on it and wearing it away, or rain being a quick forceful source of erosion by hitting strong rock and splitting the rain drop making it go into the harder to get cracks and breaking the rock from inside out.

  50. I forgot to put gravity in that mix so here it is. Gravity: Gravity can pull down rocks from a ledge.

water can create erosion by going into rocks and breaking it from the inside. it can also carry materials such as sand one way.

and also there is gravity that moves things and can do a ton of stuff such as let rocks falling off a cliff fall.

  55. Wind: I think this causing big changes over time but over a little time it is small scale.

Water: I think this is the same as wind.

Glaciers: I think this is a big scale change.

  58. Gravity water and wind are all erosional forces. They can cause large and small scale changes. Because gravity can make the rocks fall, water can wear them down, and wind can blow them places, making them break.
