Save the Space Station

The meteor is heading for the space station. What plan would you come up with to prevent the meteor collision with the space station? Which of Newton's Laws would you use to explain why your plan would work?

  1. I would move the space station out off the way off the meteor. I would use newtons second aw f=ma.

    2. To move out of the way of the meteor, I would simply walk down to the control room of the space station and apply enough force to get out of the way of the meteor. I would know this works because of newtons second law f=ma. ONce our of the meteor's path I would sigh in relief

    3. There needs to be a period at the end urgh!!

  2. You can use acceleration to make it go faster, using Newton's second law.

  3. I would take a new station or some device to move the asteroid into another planets orbit. I would use Newton's second law, F=MA.

  4. I would shoot missiles at it. Newtons 3rd law would work because the missile pushing on the ground would be the action and the ground pushing on the missile would be the reaction.

  5. I don't know.

  6. the missiles would push on the thing they are being launched using newtons third law because of the equal oppisitte reaction that pushes it out towards the asteroid.

  7. I am thinking that with all of the force around the astroid that depending on the weight that the space station it would automatically move.

    Shoot it down with missiles

    SO ENTERTAINING

I'd use rockets to push the space station out of the way, Newton's first law explains this because an object in motion tends to stay in motions and an object at rest (space station) tends to stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force (Rockets).

  10. I would shoot it with super amazing futuristic space lasers!

  11. move it with rockets and newtons first law.

  12. Send a nuclear bomb after the meteor. Or just get a spaceship to retrieve the space station.

  14. move space station.

  15. I would jump out of the rocket and then plummet to the water on Earth. Newton's Law is the third one because jumping is the ground pushing back on you with the same force.

  16. i would shoot missiles at it, using newton's first law.

  17. I would accelerate the rocket at a high velocity, using Newtons second law.

    1. Newtons 2nd law of motion is ,the rate of change of momentum, is proportional to the imposed force and goes in the direction of the force. So I would accelerate the space station in an opposite direction, and avoid the meteor.

  18. I would try to shoot a Nuclear Missal using Newtons First Law.

  20. You could use some sort of missal thing to hit the meteor to make it go off course to prevent the meteor from hitting the space station. Newton's First Law explains this because an object will stay in motion until it's acted on by an outside force.

  21. I would move the space station out of the way. I would do that using Newton's first law. An object in motion stays in motion and an object at rest stays at rest unless acted on by an unequal force.

  22. I Would use the first law, and i would put a protective bubble in front of the space ship thing. So that it will stop the meteor.

  23. i would shoot the asteroid with a laser rocket and it would explode it would be the first and second law i think.

  24. it would use the first law

We would fly out to space in a rocket, with a rocket launcher and shoot it at the meteor. So the meteor doesn't hit the Space Station.

And the rocket launcher has more mass than the meteor.

  28. I would use the knowledge of Newtons 1st law, "An object in motion will stay in motion unless acted on by an unbalanced force." I would create a huge blockade that would stop the meteor from crashing into the ship. The blockade would be sent out by a rocket and assembled into pieces by ship workers. IT WILL WORK, AND I WILL BE THE HERO!!!

  37. I would blow the meteor up using Newtons first law (an object in motion stays in motion unless acted on by an outside force) the outside force would be the rocket.

  38. i would throw stuff at it

  39. i would use newtons first law,and try to stop it with a unmanned rocket and launch it at the metorite

  40. I am gonna drop bombs on the meteor and hoping the meteor explodes and forms smaller parts so there is less mass and force.

  41. i would blow up the meteor so it doesn't kill me.
