Mineral Resources

What is the difference between metallic and nonmetallic  mineral resources? Please give an example of each.

  1. Metallic resources are medal. Nonmetallic resources are not metal.

Example of metallic- A tin can.

    Example of nonmetallic- A tree.

    1. Metallic recourses are like aluminum and tin. Nonmetallic resources are like mined for the nonmetallic elements contained in them and for the specific physical and chemical properties they have. Generally, nonmetallic mineral resources can be divided into two different groups industrial minerals and building materials.

  2. The difference is that metallic has metal in it and the nonmetallic has no metal in it.

    2. Iron and a tin can are good examples of metallic.

  3. . Non-metallic minerals are those which do not yield new products on melting

  8. The difference between metallic and non-metallic is that metallic is metal and that non-metallic isn't metal. For example:

    Non-metallic) Salt

    1. Metallic is metal found from Earths minerals. Any resources not used from oils are nonmetallic

  10. A metallic mineral resources is a material that has mineral deposits. Example a soda can. A nonmetallic mineral resource is a materal that is not used as fuel or other minerals. example is salt.

  12. Metallic materials are rich in minerals such as iron and they have metal in them and non-metallic don't have metal but it has minerals, not as much as metallic materials.

  13. Metallic minerals have Iron and medal, and Non-Metallic doesn't

  14. the metallic has metal and nonmetallic has no metal

  15. Metallic mineral resources can be melted and reused. However, non-metallic mineral resources cannot be reused or melted.

Examples for Metallic Resources: Lead, Zinc, Iron, Gold, etc.

Examples for Non-Metallic Resources: Diamond, etc.

  21. Nonmetallic mineral resources is a material that isn't used as a fuel nor other minerals! A metallic mineral resource is a material that does have mineral deposits! Limestone is part of both groups. Examples: Sandpaper that has garnet (a gemstone) , road salt are nonmetallic. An example is a can that is made up of bauxite. The formula is Al2O3 + SiO2 + TiO2 + Fe2O3.

  27. Metallic Minerals:

    I. Metallic mineral re those minerals which can be melted to obtain new products.

II. Iron, cooper, bauxite, tin, manganese are some examples.

III. These are generally associated with igneous rocks.

IV. They are usually hard and have shines or luster of their own.

    V. They are ductile and malleable.

VI. When hit, they do not get broken.

    Non-Metallic Minerals:

    I. Non-metallic minerals are those which do not yield new products on melting.

II. Coal, salt, clay, marble are some examples.

III. These are generally associated with sedimentary rocks.
