  66. Something that I found interesting about plate tectonics was that how large they could be. Another thing I found was interesting was that the move 3 inches per year about as fast as your fingernails grow. I thought this was interesting because you could look at your fingernails and go "WOAH my the plate tectonics have moved this much already!!!". One other thing that I also found out was that they are actually floating on the mantle and move on a plastic like layer of the Earth called the Lithosphere.
