I think different muscles look different depending on what kind of muscle it is. I think Skeletal muscles and cardiac muscles look striated. The smooth muscles looks non striated.The cardiac and skeletal muscles are probably striated because they have to work harder and move. The smooth muscle is organs and the muscles don't have to work hard because they don't move.

It really depends on the muscle. Muscles that don't move that much probably don't have that many mitochondria, but ones that do probably have many.
