Test Coming Up 11.7.11

Surface water , ground water , and ocean shoreline are the three main topic for chapter 4. Please write a post that tells how these three concepts are connected. Also do you see how they are related to the three erosional forces we studied in chapter 3 and to the two types of weathering. Your post should have at  least 5 well thought out sentences.

  1. Surface water comes from rain. soon the surface water sinks into the ground to make ground water.the ground water travels under ground. soon it gets to the ocean. that creates a ocean line.

  2. All three of the topics are related to water or water erosion. They relate to chapter three because they are all about erosion.Last chapter was all about erosion to glaciers, dunes, Etc. Chapter four will be about water erosion. And other stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  3. surface water, ground water, and ocean shoreline are connected in many ways. first, and most obvious, they are all important in erosion. second, surface water is water above the ground, ground water is bellow the ground, and ocean shoreline is the place where ocean meets the land, so they are all related to water. third, ocean water is made of surface and ground water that is salt water, not fresh water. so the ocean is met at the land which is the ocean shoreline. that uses all of the three main topics and how they are connected. they are all related to water erosion, whether it is surface water or ground water.

    ReplyDelete
  4. surface water is just rain water.
after the surface water soaks in the ground it becomes ground water.the that water will end up in the ocean. making a ocean line. so its a repeated operation.....

    ReplyDelete
  5. The surface water could sink into the ground which makes ground water and the ground water could travel to the shore line through premeable rock so the water is connected. Glaciers ripped up a place in the ocean so the water could be stored and when it melts it makes a young stream. wind could make a dune which is by the ocean and makes shoreline. Gravity can make a tree creep into the river. Water could make ice wedging.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Surface water, ground water, and ocean shoreline relate because surface water soaks into the ground, becoming ground water and the ground water will travel into the ocean creating a shoreline.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Surface water is water that is on land.Ground water is water that soaks into the ground. And ocean shoreline is water along the shore. They are related because they all have to do with water. Also they are related because water can be eroded by gravity, and is part of a glacier, and wind can affect what water does and were it is.

    ReplyDelete
  8. surface water comes from rain. It becomes ground water when it soaks in to the ground. The ground water travels underground to the ocean and becomes a ocean line.

    ReplyDelete
  9. they all relate to water erosion. after it goes into the ground it is now ground water. it will probably next be in the ocean.and then it will repeat.over and over again!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. They all have to do with water. And the two types of weathering is mech. and chem. weathering. Surface water is water that stays on the ground and that will cause runoff. Ground water is water that socks into the ground. Ocean shoreline is the line that cuts through the water and the shore.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Surface water, ground water, and ocean shoreline are related to water and/or water erosion. Surface water can be old, mature, or young streams. This relates to chapter three because there was three stages of mountains, young, mature, and old.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The surface water comes from rain and the surface water sinks into the ground which makes it ground water. After The ground water flows through out the ground and flows into the ocean and creates a shoreline. All three topics are related to eachother because there all about the erosion of water and they are all some how connected in the cycle toogether.

  13. These three words all are places water can be found.
The first word, surface water, the that is water that has not soaked into the ground. The second word, ground water is water found under ground in connecting pores in the soil, this area is called an aquifer and the area at which it is collected is called the water table. The last word, ocean shore line, well is basically where the salt water meets the beach made up of sand and or rocks, any loose sediment have a high chance of getting moved by long shore current and the tides, there is a difference between the two. that is all

    ReplyDelete
  14. surface water, ground water, and ocean shoreline are connected.ground water is water that is underground.Surface water is above ground. The ocean shoreline is where the ocean meets the land. That is how they are connected.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well they all have the word water and they use water. They also erode sand and dirt and can make piles of sand and dirt. They are all related to water erosion too.The type of weathering would be machanical because when people make dams and then let all the water out it can erode dirt on the sides of a river. It can also be cemical to because rivers by themselves or the shoreline will erode the sand into piles.

    ReplyDelete
  16. They are all related to water or Water Erosion.surface water is water above the ground, ground water is in the ground, and Ocean shoreline is where the ocean meets land. After the water soaks into the ground it becomes ground water. So the three topics that were said... Groundwater, Surface water, and Ocean shoreline all all related to Water Erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  17. it has to do with water erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Surface water Is water that is on the surface like lakes and rivers. Ground water is water is underground in soil pores. Shoreline is when waves break rocks into smaller pieces of rock. They are connected because the waves or ocean is surface water and there is ground water under the ocean and the shoreline is next to the ocean. The water erosion forces relate the 3 erosional forces because wind and gravity make the waves and when glaciers melt it makes water....BYE! :D

    ReplyDelete
  19. Surface water, ground water, and ocean shoreline are connected because they all show ways of runoff.Another way is effects on gravity. And another way is rill and gully erosion. These three erosional forces we we studied are related to the three erosional forces we studied in chapter 3 and the 2 types of weathering because the weathering can cause ground water, ocean shoreline, and surface water. The 3 erosional forces relate because weathering causes a lot of the ocean shoreline and the surface water and the ground water.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well surface water and ground water are related because they could be the water for the shoreline. We did study wind erosion and wind erosion is physical changes to earth by using wind like moving sediments. Also we learned about sheet erosion sheet erosion is a type of surface water caused by runoff that happens when water following sheet picks up sediments. Water erosion happens when people wear a path (make a path) your wearing away soil and rock. That's It :D Ya..Bye.

  21. Surface water, ground water, and the ocean shoreline are connected because of these few things. 1. They are all water, and 2. they can all cause a type of erosion. They are related to the erosional forces that we studied because they erode the sand/dirt and can break it down even more or pile it up to make dunes and stuff. if I had to classify this as a type of weathering i would have to say that it would be mechanical because it doesn't use any types of chemicals to erode it. it uses just plain old water.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Surface water ground water and ocean shoreline all is a place you can find water. surface water can be young, mature or old streams. Surface water is water that stays on top of the ground and ground water is underground. They both relate to weathering because they can cause oxidation. Surface water can cause runoff.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ground water, Surface water, and ocean shoreline are connected because they all have something to do with water. Ground water goes deep in the ground. Surface water is water collecting on the ground or in a stream, river, or , lake. Ocean shore line is a strip of land where the water meets the land. So they are all connected because they all have to do with the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Surface water sinks into the ground. The water that sank into the ground becomes ground water. Ocean shoreline is when ocean water meets land. That has to do with erosion so it relates to the chapter three erosional forces.

    ReplyDelete
  25. All three of the topics are related to water or water erosion. They relate to chapter three because they are all about erosion.Last chapter was all about erosion to glaciers, dunes. Chapter four will be about water erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Surface water is water that is on land.Ground water is water that soaks into the ground. And ocean shoreline is water along the shore. They are related because they all have to do with water. Also because they erode.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ground water, surface water and ocean shorelines all relate because surface water soaks into the ground, becoming ground water and the ground water will travel into the ocean creating a shoreline.

They are all connected for water. ground water goes into the ground. Surface water is water on the ground. Ocean shoreline is where water meets land.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ocean water is when the ocean meets the shoreline. Ground water is when water seeps into the ground. Surface water is water that colects above the ground. The all have to do with the same kind of erosion. The weathering would probably be mecanical.

    ReplyDelete
  30. They all have to do with water. And the two types of weathering is mech. and chem. weathering. Surface water is water that stays on the ground and that will cause runoff. Ground water is water that socks into the ground. Ocean shoreline is the line that cuts through the water and the shore.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The surface water sinks into the ground,And the water that sank into the ground became ground water. When the ocean water meets land is called Ocean Shoreline. It has to do with erosion so it relates to the three erosional forces.

  34. surface water, ground water, and ocean shoreline are connected in many ways. first, and most obvious, they are all important in erosion. second, surface water is water above the ground, ground water is bellow the ground, and ocean Hannah says.....shoreline is the place where ocean meets the land, so they are all related to water. third, ocean water is made of surface and ground water that is salt water, not fresh water. so the ocean is met at the land which is the ocean shoreline. that uses all of the three main topics and how they are connected. they are all related to water erosion, whether it is surface water or ground water. <3 ;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Surface water, ground water and ocean shoreline are all connected because of erosion. They are all types of water. Also they are water of different levels. For instance once is inside the ground above the ground and ground level.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Surface water, ocean shoreline, and ground water are connected because they are all the same topic, water. Surface water are old, mature, or young streams. Ground water is the water under ground.

    ReplyDelete
  37. surface water is water over ground . ocean shorlines have surface water over them . ground water is under ground . the surface water can go under ground and make ground water . there is a lot of ground water on the shoreline .

    ReplyDelete
  38. Surface water, Groundwater, and Ocean shorelines all relate to each other because they all have to do with water. Also they are all different things that can happen to water. Surface water is water on the surface, groundwater is water that is underground, and ocean shoreline is where the water meets the shore.

    ReplyDelete
  39. First of all, they all involve water. Surface water is overground and shorelines have surface water, and ground water is underground

    ReplyDelete
  40. They are all water and part of the water cycle.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Surface water, ground water, and ocean shoreline are connected in many ways. First, and most obvious, they are all important in erosion. second, surface water is water above the ground, ground water is bellow the ground, and ocean shoreline is the place where ocean meets the land, so they are all related to water. Also, ocean water is made of surface and ground water that is salt water, not fresh water. So the ocean is met at the land which is the ocean shoreline. that uses all of the three main topics and how they are connected. They are all related to water erosion, whether it is surface water or ground water. The shoreline is also a very nice place to go, sometimes there are are really big waves and sometimes it is all calm.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Surface water often comes from rain. Ground water also originates from rain but, unlike surface water, it sinks into the ground. The ocean's water level rises because of rain. This all relates to gravity because without gravity, rain would never fall. It also relates to wind because sometimes the wind effects where the water land. It relates to glaciers because the water in glaciers is most likely rain water.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well these are all water and surface water comes from rain that either goes to the ocean and the shore, or the groundwater. The ground water can also go to the surface and become surface water and then ocean water. And the ocean evaporates and stars rain for surface water. They are related to wind, gravity, and glaciers because glaciers are water, slump and other gravitational phenomena can be triggered by water, and wind can be influenced by the temperature of water, as in the case of a hurricane.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Surface water, ground water, and a oceans shore line all have to do with water. Also they all of them are part of a cycle it starts with ground water that turns into surface water that flows into a ocean that creates a ocean shore line. They relate to weathering by they create ice wedging, rock slides, and rock falls.

They all have to do with water. Ground water is below the ground. Surface water is above the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  46. These three words all connect because well they all are in water erosion. Also they all have to do with parts of water like underground, beaches, and shoreline. And 2 of them go into the ocean.
That is why they are all connected.

    ReplyDelete
  47. They are all connected because they are all water. Also they are at different levels, ground water and such. They connect to things we learned in chapter three because of aquifers in underground. Also we learned about currents which connect to the ocean shorelines.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The three topics are connected because as it rains the water soaks into the ground. That is called ground water. When the groundwater level is at its highest it won`t soak in. That is when groundwater forms. The ground water flows from the ground to streams. Then to rivers to lakes to rivers. Then to the ocean shorelines.

    ReplyDelete
  49. it rains and then some of the water soaks into the ground and becomes ground water and it soaks into the pockets in the ground. The ocean shoreline soaks up some of the water. the erosional force is gravity and water.

    They are all water.

    ReplyDelete
  51. these three terms are connected because they are the different places or types of water. Groundwater collects in pours. an example of surface water is rivers and lakes. ocean shoreline is like beaches.

The three erosional forces that we studied were wind, gravity, and glaciers.

    ReplyDelete
  52. surface water, ground water, and ocean shoreline are all related because are all form of water in some way, surface water is water that can not be absorbed into the ground, ground water is water that HAS been absorbed into the ground. An ocean shoreline is just water that is next to the the beaches.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Surface water is water that is above ground. Groundwater is water that is underground and held in pockets. Surface water can become groundwater if it is absorbed. The is a lot of both types of water near the ocean.

    ReplyDelete
  54. All of the chapters have to do with water. The water cycle can go through all of these. Surface water can consist of runoff. Groundwater consist of water underground. Runoff goes into the ocean and lakes.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Their relation is that they all have to do with water. They are related to weathering because water is a type of weathering. Water is mechanical weathering. They are also related to erosion because water is and erosion to. That's the way it is.

    ReplyDelete
  56. The three erosion forces are Wind, glaciers and gravity.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Spencer P. ShieldsMonday, November 07, 2011

they are all different levels of water. They all are types of erosion. They all are in our book. They all are conected to the ocean.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Surface water, ground water and Ocean shorelines all relate because well surface water and ground water both can come from rain. The difference is that ground water sinks into the ground. Also the ocean shoreline can rise from rain. It relates to chapter 3 because without gravity rain wouldn't fall.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Each one has to do with water, I know that. Each one is a different thing that happens to water or is a thing that water does. Surface and groundwater are actually almost complete opposites. Surface water is water that collects on the surface, like ponds or oceans. Groundwater is water that has seeped into that ground (that's what you see dripping off of stalactites in caves). The extra water that doesn't seep into the ground collects and becomes surface water or becomes a runoff and goes somewhere else. An ocean shoreline is what the water that comes up to the sand is called.

    ReplyDelete
  60. They all have to do with water glaciers are just frozen water wind can blow the water gravity cause tide it cause ice wedging and it can become a gas

    ReplyDelete
  61. the three erosional forces that we used in chapter 3 were wind water and glaciers and the erosional forces in chapter 4 are water gravity and wind
