Prairie grass and wheat
The roots of wheat are not very strong or deep. The roots of prairie grass are strong. Plowing up a field of prairie grass and planting wheat could lead to erosion.
Why might erosion occur?
What might be done to help stop the erosion?
Wheat field
Prairie Grass
Erosion might occur because the roots wouldn't be able to hold the soil together.
ReplyDeleteIt would cause wind erosion. To stop it would be to put a fence around the field.
ReplyDeleteerosion might occur cause the roots wont stay in the ground because its not strong enough.
ReplyDeletewind erosion, to stop it plant trees around the field to stop wind.

Erosion might occur because the wheat will plant wherever it lands and could plant in places it wouldn't.It could be stopped by planting wheat in open fields.
ReplyDeleteThe roots couldn't hold the soil together and it would also cause wind erosion.
ReplyDeleteit might occur because the roots would rip out of the ground
ReplyDelete1. The roots won't be able to hold the soil together so it won't be as strong.
ReplyDeleteErosion might occur because of the wind. Something that might stop this is to use a fence or something.
ReplyDeleteWhile the soil shifts the wheat roots will easily come out so soil can keep moving.
ReplyDeletethe roots wouldn't be able to stay together because the wheat's roots are weak.
ReplyDeleteIf you plow up the grass the wind will come and blow all the dirt and soil and move it and that will be bad.
ReplyDeleteErosion will happen because the soil wouldn't be able to hold together.
ReplyDeleteErosions occur when roots dont stay in place
ReplyDeleteerosion might occur in wind erosion, and it would occur because the wind may be too strong for the not so strong roots. u could stop it by using things like fences to block the wind.
ReplyDeleteIt might cause erosion because the roots will not be there.
ReplyDeleteMaybe stop using the plow to rip up the roots
erosion would occur from when the plants get pulled up there won't be any plants to hold the soil together.
ReplyDelete1.Erosion might occur by the wind, and the roots wouldn't be able to hold the soil together.
ReplyDelete2.To help wind erosion you could put a fence around to stop it.
the roots wouldn't be able to hold the soil together.
ReplyDeleteThe wind would move the grass.People would move the grass. ?
ReplyDeleteErosion could occur by pulling the grass out of the ground. To stop eriosion you can stop pulling grass out of the ground.

ReplyDeleteErosion might occur because the wheat will plant wherever it lands and could plant in places it wouldn't.It could be stopped by planting wheat in open fields and stuff :)
ReplyDeleteErosion might occur because the wheat will plant wherever it lands and could plant in places it shouldn't.It could be stopped by planting wheat in open fields.
ReplyDeleteErosion might happen because the roots wont be strong enough to hold stuff down.

ReplyDeleteErosion would occur because the wheat roots are weak.
ReplyDeletethere would be less erosion if you cut different grass. The wind is just going to blow the wind around.

ReplyDeleteErosion could occur because the roots are nor strong if you plant prairie grass to keep it still
1.Erosion might occur by the wind, and the roots wouldn't be able to hold the soil together.
ReplyDelete2.To help wind erosion you could put a fence around to stop it.
erosion might occurr when the roots arent strong enough to hold the plant.
ReplyDeletewont hold root together
ReplyDeleteerosional forces could occour like sand coming up and making the prarie unbalanced
ReplyDeleteIt might cause erosion, then to stop it you would need a fence around the field or something to stop the wind.
ReplyDeleteErosion might occur because the wheat will plant wherever it lands and could plant in
ReplyDeleteand places it wouldn't and also the wheat would go everywhere. Could be stopped by planting wheat in open fields.
Hi!! Erosion might happen when the grass is pulling out of the ground.
ReplyDeleteYou could pull the grass out yourself.
:)
Erosion might happen because the wheat will grow anywhere that is fetilized
ReplyDeleteErosion might occur because of wind. The wind might be too strong for the wheat that it is ripped out of the ground. What might help keep the erosion from happening would be a fence because the wind would not come through the fence.

ReplyDeleteI feel very random right now :) This is fun. I don't know what to right.
ReplyDeleteI spelled right wrong didn't I? write
ReplyDeletehey emily(not gyer) look at my comments:)

ReplyDeletethe wheat roots will not keep the soil in like the grass roots will because it is not native. this is what caused the dust bowl
ReplyDeleteErosion would occur because the soil is so used to being supported by the grass that it was weak when the grss was gone
ReplyDeleteErosion might occur due to the weak roots of the wheat not being able to hold onto the soil that well. This would make the field more susceptible to wind erosion. A fence might help block some of the wind.
ReplyDeleteThe roots can hold so much soil on prairy grass that when you pull it out there is a hole.
ReplyDeleteTo help stop erosion you could keep it wet and LET THE GRASS LIVE.....
ReplyDeleteErosion might be caused by wind or rain. Planting plants with strong roots would stop erosion.
ReplyDeleteerosion might occur when rain comes and it could wash all the soil away they could stop this by not digging up all the prairie grass at one time.
ReplyDeleteThe wind would probably pick up the soil and they could plant trees to stop the wind.
ReplyDeletein the prairie the wind is probably stronger so erosion might happen by ripping the weak roots out of the ground. You could build a fence to block the strong winds of the prairie.
ReplyDeleteErosion may occur such as mudslides because the wheat roots aren't able to hold the soil in place as much as the prairie grass roots.
ReplyDeleteA wheat field's weak roots won't stop erosion but a prairie grasses strong roots will hold the soil tight in its place, thereby stopping erosion. To stop erosion in the breadbasket of the nation, maybe, they should leave some native prairie between the wheat fields or use wheat varieties with stronger roots.
ReplyDeleteThe erosion that might occur would be wind erosion from people digging up all the soil and making it lose. It might be stopped by less farming, then plants will grow and all will be happy and soil free.
ReplyDeleteThe erosion that might accure would be wind erosion because in the prairies there are no things to slow the wind and the wind would tair it all up.
ReplyDeleteto stop it happening you could put up wind berriers
Wind erosion might happen because before the grass was tough and would not get blown out of the grown but since the roots of the wheat plant aren't that strong but now the wind is blowing and the wheat gets blown out of the grown.
ReplyDeletethe reason erosion may occur is because the roots of the grass are bigger, and the wheat is smaller, so the dirt around the roots will be disheveled
ReplyDeleteWind erosion might occur. Since the roots of the wheat aren't as strong as the prairie grass the wind could rip it up.
ReplyDeleteErosion could occur because soil is not held in place and could make a mudslide.
ReplyDeleteThe roots of the wheat cannot hold the soil to the ground like the prairie grass can. Wind can now rip up the soil and carry it away. To stop the erosion, it might be a good idea to put in concrete walls and fences, leave sections or strips of prairie grass, and/or lay gravel down over the dirt.
ReplyDeleteThe erosion that might occur could be the dirt being plowed and moved around.
ReplyDeleteTo stop the erosion, the farmers could plant the wheat somewhere else. Like in a different field.
Erosion might occur because there is no grass protecting the ground from erosion and when you plow the strong prairie grass, you have no way to stop erosion unless you keep the strong prairie grass and don't plow it and grow wheat.
ReplyDeleteThe prairie grass is strong because there is a lot of wind in the prairie. If you planted wheat the wind would probably rip up the wheat and make the soil all dry. It would probably kill all sorts of animals. It would take away small animals hiding places which would allow larger animals to eat them. If the bigger animals ate all the small animals then the small animals would be extinct. What the small animals eat would become overpopulated. If the smaller animals that the small animals eat then soon the smaller animals would make a small army then they would eat the smallest animals soon the prairie would be a large pile of dirt.
ReplyDeleteErosion will probably occur because wheat roots are weak and can not hold on to the ground as well as prairie roots, so it might be pulled out as the wind blows. A fence or plants with stronger roots might be good to block erosion.
ReplyDeleteerosion might occur in wind erosion, and it would occur because the wind may be too strong for the not so strong roots. u could stop it by using things like fences to block the wind.

ReplyDeleteErosion will probably occur because wheat roots are not strong enough and can not stay into the ground.
ReplyDeleteerosion will happen because the roots wnt be able to hold the roots together so it wont be strong.

Wind erosion will probably make the plants roots grow weaker and eventually make the roots come out of the ground.
ReplyDeletethe type of erosion that would happen would be a volcanoe

ReplyDeleteerosion might occur from wind
ReplyDeleteit will weather because the plant is weak. i don't know what could be done to stop the weathering.
ReplyDeleteErosion might occur because the roots wouldn't be able to hold the soil together.:)
ReplyDeleteErosion will happen because of the roots & not all the roots will be able to hold together that's how they get uprooted because they aren't very strong to hold together.
ReplyDeletethere roots are soft and they should put a fence around the field
ReplyDeletethe prarie roots are strong and deep and they will cause erosions because of that
ReplyDeleteErosion might ocur due to the weak roots of the wheat not being able to hold onto the soil that good. This would make the field more open to wind erosion.

ReplyDeleteErosion occur when plant and trees are dug up on a hill
ReplyDeleteerosion occur when wind blows sand in differnt places
