Gardens 10.6.2011

Consider two garden plots, one in the open country and one in a city. How would you expect the forces of erosion to be different in these two locations?

  1. The outside one will have more of an effect.

  2. the outside has more effect!!!!

  3. one of the gardens are next to a building. that building could shade the garden and change the erosion process.

  4. the erosion would effect the garden outside the city

    gavin l.

  5. The outside one might die faster because it might get blown over by the wind or something

  6. The country will have better soil then the city and the country will probably have better weather for the plants to grow.

  7. the plot in the open country will be more fertile causing the erosion to be more because it is outside in the open rather than a greenhouse. The one that's in the city would probably be in a green house causing the wind to not get to it.

  8. More plants will grow in the outside one!

  9. in the country because its nicer and better for plants to grow.

  10. In the city there might not be enough soil so its harder to plant plants. and in the country theres alot of soil and alot of spce for the sun to shine on it.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The one in the country would get more wind erosion because there are no buildings to block the wind. And the one in the city might be effected gravity.
    :P

  12. The one in the country will have more normal erosion process but the one in the city will have more different erosion process.

    ReplyDelete
  13. One that's near the building might get some of the stuff coming of the building. The other one might die because of the wind.

    ReplyDelete
  14. More trees will grow in the country then the city because there would be better soil and weather in the country.

    ReplyDelete
  15. There would be less wind in the city because of all of the buildings. Also less soil. Although in the country there would be more wind and soil.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The one in the city would have less erosion because it is protected by the cement.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The one outside might die because the It might not get sun behind the building. The one the is out in the field Will grow better because the plants will get all the resources they need.

  18. City erosional forces are pollution, wind, rain , and weather
    Country Weather, wind, rain,

  19. In the city there is more polution in the city because of all the cars and in the country there isnt as much so there will probably be more flowers on the country then in the city.

    ReplyDelete
  20. the one in the open would have more erosion because the weather would be more intense there than in the city

  22. there would be less erotion in the city than in the open.

  23. one of the gardens are next to a building. that building could shade the garden and one is in the sun so the erosion will be different.

  24. out in th country is bing to be better for the plant becase there is not good soil in the city

  25. The Garden in the huge feild will get more effect

  26. the plot in the open country will be more fertile causing the erosion to be more because it is outside in the open rather than a greenhouse. The one that's in the city would probably be in a green house causing the wind to not get to it.

the one next to the building might might shade the garden so it would be different

  28. The country will have a better envorment to grow things than in the city.

    ReplyDelete
  29. the outside has more effect on the plants

  30. The city would be kind polluted and that would make the soil worse. The country isn't very big , so there would be less people , which means less pollution. And that means better soil for the gardens.

    ReplyDelete
  31. the city plants would not erode as fast as the country plants because there are less erosional forces in the city .

  33. country there is not alot of polution to make the plants die

    ReplyDelete
  34. The one in the city might die faster because the building is blocking the sun. The one in country would live longer and get bigger because nothing is blocking it from the sun. :)

  35. I think that there would less erosen in the city and water and wind erosen in the small town

    ReplyDelete
  36. country gardens grow better because they have more room for roots

    ReplyDelete
  37. country will probably have better weather for the plants to grow , then the city.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Country Gardens would grow better because there is more space for the roots and the one in the city would die faster because the sun is blocked by the building and the polution in the air.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The city's products would probably be smaller because of the pollution. The country area would have larger products because there is no pollution.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The city garden would be mostly at risk of wind erosion, but not too much because of the surrounding buildings that would help block the wind. The one in the open country would be effected a lot more by wind because there are no buildings to block it, but the fences around it will help.

  41. In the country, you can grow a vast amount of crops over a huge area. But, in the cities case you can only grow several crops, but there is usually more wind erosion in the country. In the city, there is usually little erosion besides chemical, because of the pollution in the air

    ReplyDelete
  42. The garden in the city will probably not do as well as the garden in the open but the garden in the open will probably have more erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think the forces of erosion would be different because the garden in the open would get a lot more wind and sun and the one in the city wouldn't get as much as the one in the city.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The garden in the country would probably get more sun light and minerals. The one in the city would not get much sunlight if its next to a building. and the minerals wouldn't be that great.

The garden in the city is at high risk of polution, however it way be next to a building shielding it from some of the wind.
The one in the open gas no protection, yet not as much polution for it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. the country would have more erosion than the little garden in the city because of the rain and wind in the country is going to effect the garden because it is more exposed.

    ReplyDelete
  47. In the country, there might be better soil and weather. The pollution in a city, the shade from tall buildings, and little space to grow would effect a garden negatively. The 'fruit' of the labors would probably be smaller.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The city plot would be effected by soil loss more because of the lack of roots and plants. The country gardens would be less effected by soil loss, but more effected by floods, or glacial deposits that would've been stopped in city areas.

    ReplyDelete
  49. There is more smog and gas, so the plants would deteriorate faster in the city.

  51. The forces of erosion would be different in each location because you have different exposier to light and wind. In the country you would have nothing to block the sun from reaching the plants, you would also have stronger wind because there is nothing to stop them from coming. In the city you have lots of buildings that block the sunlight from coming down, you also have lots of wind breakers and the pollution in the air would eat away at it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Also the soil in the country could be up lifted and the city could not. so the country garden would have more wind erosion. In the city there wouldn't be that much wind erosion because the buildings would stop it.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The pollution in the city would definitely affect the plants but, I do not know if this is erosion. The city buildings probably prevent wind erosion to some degree but, there probably is a lot of wind erosion in the country. There might be acid rain in the city. The hill that the country garden is on might affect the country garden.

    ReplyDelete
  54. In one of the pictures the garden is next to a building which could create shade. Also the one in the city may be affected by pollution and probably won't have as good as soil as the country. The country will have good soil. Also the one that is in the field will get better sunlight.

    ReplyDelete
  55. The garden in the city would probably not do to well because of all the buildings that produce all that yucky smokey stuff. That would go in to the clouds and produce acid rain. That would not hydrate the plants when they need it it would most likely stunt their growth, or kill them. The one in the open country would probably do better because the fresh air is good and not so much acid rain would happen because it doesn't really migrate that much. Also if the garden in the city was in a green house it would probably do better in it because the acid rain wouldn't get to it but still in a green house the garden in the open country would still do better.

  56. The city garden has a lot of erosional forces. But the country also has a lot of erosional forces. The cities forces consist of little wind, they might get walked or stepped on. Also it might get plowed through or get trashed by neighborhood kids. But in the country there is more wind, it could also get eaten by animals. The chance of it getting plowed over is very low. Also the chance of getting trashed is also very low. Also there is more of a chance for it to be affected by rain and or snow.

    ReplyDelete
  57. The one in the open city would probably have more of an effect.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The city garden could have less soil caused by erosion and the plants wouldn't be as big as the country garden and the country garden could flood easily especially the way it is in the 2nd picture.

There would be alot of pollution in the city, but in the small town there would be animals and rain and more wind whereas in the city the buildings would block most of the wind and there wouldn't be many animals i think that the small town would have more erosion

  60. The two gardens are both at risk of erosion but different types since they both are located in different climates. The garden in the country has a higher risk of different types of erosion, but the one in the city will get less sunshine and minerals in the soil and will have a higher chance of being polluted.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I think the erosional forces would be very different from the first picture in the city to the second city in the open country. Now in the first picture, the one in the city, chemical weathering would affect the plants. I say that BECAUSE it's in the city. All the gasses hurt in because obviously it's bad to be exposed to those chemicals 24-7. That said it would be protected from some things that the one in the plain would be affected by. Like wind. There are lots of wind breaks, buildings, cars, all that good stuff. They're so big and surround the plant... But anyways, they provide a wind break and wind erosion wouldn't really affect the plant in the city. Now on to the plant in the open country. It Probably wouldn't be affected by the gasses and such. Although it would massively be affected by wind erosion. Also it would be in danger of being washed out by water and flooding. The open plains can be an advantage, or a disadvantage.

  62. the garden in the city will die quicker than the one in the open country because of the city fumes

    ReplyDelete
  63. one of the gardens are next to a building. that building could shade the garden and change the erosion process.

    ReplyDelete
  64. the plot in the open country will be more fertile causing the erosion to be more because it is outside in the open rather than a greenhouse. The one that's in the city would probably be in a green house causing the wind to not get to it.

  65. In the city it could be shaded by the building

    ReplyDelete
  66. outside has more effect than inside does

    ReplyDelete
  67. the one in the city will die faster because the soil in the city is dry.

the one that is in the country will last longer

    ReplyDelete
  68. the country scape will probily get more rain

    ReplyDelete
  69. One of the gardens is inside so it wouldn't get much erosion the one outside would get way more erosion then the one inside

    ReplyDelete
  70. gardens are used to growe diffrint typs of veges logan sez

    ReplyDelete
  71. the one in the countrey would grow better because theres not as much polution

    ReplyDelete
  72. the one in the conty would grow better than the one in the city because less poulition

    ReplyDelete
  73. outside would have more effects then in the city

    ReplyDelete
  74. The country is diffent with roots all around the plants the city has only the plants they planted.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The country garden would have more natural erosion, while the city garden would have more chemicle erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  76. it would be different because of the weather and how they are planted

    ReplyDelete
  77. the one in the county is better than the city one

    ReplyDelete
  78. the erosional forces will not efect the garden as much as a garden in the country side but the city garden will be different because he air the city garden plants will absorb

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think the garden in the city will not be able to grow as much produce as the garden in the country because the pollution in the air could could affect the plants and the garden could not be getting the stuff that it needs to grow. But the garden in the country will be able to be bigger and grow more produce because it will be exposed to less pollution and get more of the stuff it needs to grow, like sunlight and water.
