the last ice age would have lifted the ocean levels by quite a bit covering land in water.you'd be more likely to find a valley glacier in the himalayan mountains or any other large mountain range.the glacier on fig. 1 looks like like its a continental glacier.

  6. In figure 1 the type of glacier that is shown is that the glacier broke off. In figure 2 i think that rocks snow and ice made the formation. You can find continental and valley glaciers by the Artic . I think the last ice age effected ocean level by the ice then it melted and made it bigger.

Well you could find them most anywhere that is cold so not like South Africa or other warm places like that. The last ice age must have made the sea level drop badly because most of the water would freeze.

I think Figure two is a esker.
Maybe you can find it in Antarctica.
I think it effected the ocean levels because the ice might of melted into the ocean and put more and more water in it.

I think figure one is a continental glacier, like a floating chunk of ice, kinda like an island. Figure 2 looks like a giant snow covered grand canyon. So i would say its a canyon or valley glacier. I think the last ice age made the ocean level higher, because of all the melting ice. And, I think my name is sorta resonsibible, right? Yea, your right, Jarebear needs to butt out, sorry.

  71. The oceans became smaller because ocean water was frozen into glaciers.

  72. ever since the last ice age the glaciers have been melting and the water level rising

  73. 1. Continental glacier

    2. Valley glacier

    3. Continental glaciers are currently only found in Antarctica and Greenland. Valley glaciers are found all over North America, but they can be found in almost all mountainous regions all over the world. Some of the larger ones are found in Alaska and along the Rocky Mountains.

    4. After the last ice age, the water levels rose because the ice melted.

  75. 1. Fig. 1 is a continental glacier, or a massive sheet of ice.
    2. Fig. 2 is a valley carved by a valley glacier, or a slender tongue of ice.
    3. You can find continental glaciers in Antarctica and Greenland. You can find valley glaciers in high mountains like the Himalayas, Alps, and Alaska Range.
    4. The last ice age lowered sea levels by trapping massive amounts of seawater in ice. That's how the first Americans traveled to America, across the land bridge from Siberia to Alaska.

Depending on the time in the ice age at the beginning of the ice age the water would lower at the end the water water would rise higher

    ReplyDelete
  78. the first glacier is a continental and the second is a valley glacier.

you could find them in Antarctica.

the last ice age made the water lower and then after it melted it rose

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think the glacier in Figure 1 is a continental glacier. The glacier in Figure 2 is probably a valley glacier. You could find a continental glacier in Greenland, or Antarctica. You would probably find a valley glacier in Alaska. The last ice age effected the ocean levels because the ice age would freeze up the ocean, then glaciers would move the water onto land.

There are two types of glaciers, valley and continental. You can find these glaciers in cold climates. For example you can find them in the arctic ocean. The ice age made the water levels rise because when the glaciers melted it added to the sea level. Or did it? I don't mean to start a debate but where did the water come from? Please respond.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I think the glacier in figure one is a glacier approaching the ocean and melting into it. As the glacier enters the ocean the ocean level will rise. I believe this is a Continental Glacier. Figure two is a Valley glacier

You can find a Continental Glacier on Antartica and Greenland
You can find Valley Glaciers on mountainous areas such as Tibet

The last ice age both lowered the water levels but raised it. During the Ice age, water level lowered, but as the ice melted it rose the levels up

    ReplyDelete
  82. 1. Continental Glaciers.

    2. Valley Glaciers.

    3. Valley glaciers in the middle east. Continental glaciers near the north and south pole.

    4. The last ice age affected the ocean level because during the ice age the water level dropped because it was being turned into ice. But when the ice age ended the ocean level rose back to normal.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I disagree eric because the water from the glaciers has raised the level of the worlds bodies of water

    ReplyDelete
  84. In figure 1 a continental glacier is depicted which can mostly found in colder regions of the world, such as, Greenland and Antarctica. In figure 2 there's a valley glacier which are normally found in regions of the world that have a warmer climate. After the last ice age the ocean levels I think were effected greatly because after all the melting they would have risen greatly.
