More with the Javelina

Why is the javelina not eating one of the cactus? 
What happens to the cactus the javelina is eating by picture four?

  6. The Javalina isn't eating the other cactus because that cactus has a defense mechanism, and by picture for there is only one cactus cause the other one is dead

  7. the other cactus has thorns which protect it from incoming predators, the other cacti has no thorns making it easier for the javelin to eat.

  8. He's not eating the cactus because first of all there isn't any water in a cactus usually an second a cactus would hurt to eat.
