  9. The types of climate that can affect weathering in Maine would be stuff such as Ice,rain,a little bit of heat but its still enough to melt the ice in rocks.

  11. Yes, climate can affect weathering. If it was hot, rocks could not break apart because ice could not form in the rocks. In Maine, mechanical and chemical weathering could occur. Ice could form in rocks and break them apart. Mechanical weathering could be people smashing rocks at beaches or parks.

  35. Yes the climate can effect weathering. Some types of weathering in Southern Maine are rain, snow, wind, sleet, could slow start to ware down the rock.

  36. Yes, the climate does effect weathering. In Maine, we have cold weather, which could cause ice wedges, and rain, which can slowly diminish rock, and warm weather, which does the same as rain.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The climate can affect weathering. If it's raining, and below freezing temperature, there could be ice wedging.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yes, climate can affect weathering, because freezing rain snow and hail, slowly breaks down rock.

  54. Climate can because when its summer then no snow/ice to make an ice wedge for mechanicle weathering or no rain for chemical.

  62. Yes climate can affect weathering because the rain, snow, sun, and other weather breaks down the rock.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Mostly I would have to say mechanical weathering would be found because of all the overgrowth such as trees. The amount of rain we receive and cold weather, ice wedging is often occurred weathering.

  64. yes climate wearthring because of all the seasons

    ReplyDelete
  65. climate does effect weathering, one reason being the rain in a rain forest will weather and erode rock sediments.

  69. Climate can effect weather such as when really hot air meets cold air that it can cause a STORM!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Increased temperatures cause increased evaporation of water. This can lead to increased precipitation. It can also lead to droughts in some areas, as the air has a higher capacity to *hold* water, so it may not rain in places where it used to.

  75. The weathering process produces chemical or physical decay of exposed rocks on the earth's surface. The quantity of rain, degree of temperature change and length of exposure to the elements determine the rate of weathering and decay.

  76. Yes it can. We'd fine all sorts of weather depending on the climate.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yes climate can effect weathering because if its hot or muggy it can effect tornados and sever thunderstorms and if its cold then snow and ice

    ReplyDelete
  78. Climate can effect weathering when climate effects the weather and it rains it can weather the rocks.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Places with a lot of rain can cause weathering because i can seep into a rock and when it freeze it splits the rock apart.
